im not 4x4 guy, but ive seen that u must regear for bigger tires than stock, that way the power wont be overtaken
hope it helps

You need gears for it. Atleast 4.56's with 33's.

Do you have an auto or manual trans?

Mine has 31" tires and works the same or better in 4wd compared to 2wd.

My 3.0 has trouble turning my 31's. The 98 4.0 I just bought turns 31's no problem. Regear the axles and you'll be good to go.

Just remember, you have a 3.0, RPMS ARE YOUR FRIEND!! they like to make their power up in the rpms. I know where your coming from with the 4high tho, it is frustrating. but the 3.0 likes to rev, so just open her up and let her scream.

My truck seems to do pretty good in 4hi with 31's and 4:10s but I dont go muddin in it I just use it when I need to climb something a little sloppy or pulling a steep gravel hill, she gets a little loose on washboards in 2wd:) Good to hear you found a new truck

I ran a tank of e85 and all it did was kill my mileage, I never heard it ping though:) I usually run 89 in my mine I know the manual says to only run 87 but it runs better on better fuel so its worth the extra cash.

With 33's I'd advise 4:88 gearing..

What will the gearing do with my gas mileage
