No. Clean the shaft that comes out of the motor. Or just repetitively hit the shift buttons. It has worked on three different trucks so far

Well unfortunately, the ignition did not fit. but the locks were very simple to install. I just ordered them off amazon.

What will you do about the ignition?
I'm gonna need to do something before long. my ignition is closer to falling apart every time I use it, and I too want the same key for the doors

Well, currently i put my old ignition back in. From what i can tell someone replaced it, cause its different from the doors. I am hoping for a refund from Amazon but im not going to hold my breath. I would do some more research on it there are plenty of ignition and lock packages online. So my locks work now just a diff key.

My next step with the ranger is to get the steering and alignment worked out. The truck doesn't shake a whole lot, so I think the rotors aren't warped. However, in spite of that there is about a 10 to 20 degree play in the steering. The tires dont seem to be showing signs of wear from a bad ball joint causing them to wiggle when driving. Also when ive experienced bad ball joints in the past there is vibration from the tires, but im not really having a whole lot. The steering is pulling to the right and the wheel has to be turned to go straight. I need to put tires on it. Im thinking about 32s. Does anyone know of a kit for upper and lower ball joints and control arm ball joints? I feel like i should replace them just to be safe, since im puttimg over sized tires on and probably wider ones. Or the doorman part numbers? I think ill start with an alignment and greasing the joints but i think ill have to put a new steering box on.

From what i can tell since its a 1994 it has the dana 35. I found some kits for the steering joints and ball joints, but it says it is for the rwd i feel like they are different.

Also, on another note does anyone have personal experience with electronic lockers? I am considering adding one im just not sure on which one is best/or cheaper but still good... I would love some feedback.
