Hi. Happy Memorial Day.

I'm replacing my '02 hood/grille/headlight for the '08/'09 power hood and grille.

Does anyone have an exploded diagram of the most recent ranger front grill area?

I'm paticularly interested in the "undereye" area under the headlight, Thos wings were a single integral part of the '02 grille but not now and I can't get a pic or part number of the separated winglet under the headlamp.

Thanks guys. I'll be posting pics of the upgrade. (But it'll look just like a new truck.) :)

I don't have a diagram but they are part of the header panel.

Hey that's gonn alook fantastic. Are these recent? Any snags I should look for?

I figure I might need the "bumper "fillers to close that gap under the wings.

I never figured the wings are a molded part of the header panel. Huh.

I'm hoping I can get away with leaving the panel black and just painting the wings to match the truck.

Looks encouraging though!

I did this last fall. Here's a finished pic.

I decided to sell the truck so I put the newer front on the one I'm keeping...

wvcat, how did you eliminate the cheesy gap between the grille and the hood? That looks great, much better than "normal". I love the face of the 04+ trucks but the "hood popped open" look bothers me. That's actually part of the reason I held out for a black truck, the gap is not quite as noticeable.

I actually used an 01-03 powerdome hood. They are fiberglass and I cut the front with a small cutoff wheel to match the grill.

Yeah....He's running a REAL 01-03 fiberglass 'powerdome', notched the hood for the 04+ taller grille, then painted her up. Only one i've seen to do it so far.....and is what I'm planning on doing when I build me my 04+ front ended '98 slammed stepside project truck.

OP...get a 04+ header panel...they are cheap.

the fiberglass ones are the ones that really matter....only on 01-03 XLT 4x4's and Edges, not on every single truck made like on 04+, and well......it's just cooler looking. Thats why i called it the 'real' powerdome hood. lol. Believe it or not, when i'm out junkyarding, I get asked if that's an aftermarket hood. rofl.

So how far back can you switch body panels easily

Yep, from 98 up. Before 98 you have to change the radiator support, the front fenders, and the bumper mounting is different.
