Hey fellas. I've never had a 4.0, and was just wondering if anyone knows of any common problems that I should expect to see in the next few years. The truck doesn't appear to be beaten at all, infact I'm actually very impressed with its condition. It has 84K miles, with all regular maintenance done when it was supposed to. Do the later 2000's 4.0 automatics get the A4LD? or did that change? Never had one, so I never paid attention.

Thanks guys:icon_thumby:

You have the 5R55E transmission. I would change the transmission fluid now and continue to do it every 40k miles. There aren't really any issues with the engine. The timing chain issues were solved back in 2004?

Thanks for the input bud! Great to hear. I'll have the tranny flushed this weekend. How does the 5R55E rate on a scale of 1-10 when it comes to beat-ability? Not that I plan on beating it up, but it would be good to know.

Thanks again!
