over the past weekend i was out at a place called cecil field just doin a bit of wheelin by myself wasnt going through anything deep just scoping it out for hunting i see a puddle i wanted to go through (mind you i only have 2wd) so i get out with my depth stick and see how deep it is...its like 2 inches so i go ahead and go through it.......i wasnt to inches it was about 4 feet deep in the middle that i didnt check...so im sitting out there stuck for an hour trying to dig and find wood and along comes this jeep cherokee....without a word being said he was out of his rig witha rope...well i had been there for a while so the suction was bad he couldnt get me out....4 hours and 5 of his jeep friends later finally emerged me from this hell hole.....i now have a new found respect for jeepers!

My credo
If you can't go through it or around it, then go over it.
I think that is the 4 wheeler spirit period....... anybody that went by you and didn't stop to ask you if you needed anything is a douche bag.

I have a 91 Cherokee and love it. It's my off road machine/daily driver. My Ranger is my toy and my son's truck when he gets old enough.

Not really a jeeper thing, just a people thing. Some people are dicks and dont even care, and some are nice and offer to help and get ya unstuck.

I've noticed typically the cherokee guys are better than the wrangler guys.

Half the fun of offroading is getting unstuck. Some people dont care much for it, but the challange is there. What applies to most 4X4 vehicles is they are good to get you unstuck if the operator has a clue. I unstuck a guy in his totally "offroaded" Jeep. It was the typical lifted big tires and lockers both front and rear. Nice big winch on front and the jack strapped down. Only problem is with all of the offroading he had done still didnt have a clue how to manuever or apply what he had to work with. After he got wedged in and unable to climb up this hill, so he could leave, I told him just to sit still and would be right back with my Kawasaki 4 wheeler to get him out. He just looked at me and laughed. He then told me about his 100 feet of stainless steel cabled 12000 pound winch that would get him out of anything. I looked around and asked him exactly what he planned to tie up to. Then I went to get my 4 wheeler. Ten minutes later he way humbled and on his way home as the rain started comming down hard.

I consider that good 4x4 rules. Never pass a stranded vehicle in the back country without asking if they need help. Even if they refuse it, insist.
Comes round goes round.
