He's an Ohio State fan trust me there is no point in arguing with him he knows he right. Let him buy his nissan so he can get on with foot in mouth and miss his ranger. It's a TRUCK if you didn't want exposed metal you should have bought a mini van.

Ford quality SUCKS! :thefinger::thefinger::thefinger:
Funny thread.

True story: Girl at work just bought a brand-spanking new Frontier. 12 miles on the clock when she picked it up. I told her it was very pretty.

This morning she calls work and asks 'can someone come get me? I'm waiting for a tow so they can take my truck into the dealer again.'

Again?

She's had the truck 3 weeks. This is the FOURTH visit because things just...stop working. This time it was the wipers - during a pretty heavy rain.

I picked her up in the 231k mile-Mazda. Nice and warm, with working wipers.

What did she trade for the Nissan?

An Explorer. She wants it back. If that's not an option she wants MY truck.

Sorry, it ain't for sale.

No doubt. This dash would be a no-go for this guy.

Dang, change the color to green and that would look like the only truck my father has owned in my lifetime. He bought a new 1974 F100, and didn't stop driving it till we took it away from him about a year ago, due to him being way too old to be driving......
Just another example of ford's "crappy quality".......

My dad had a '77 F-100. Red. 300-6 and 3-on-the-tree.

Great truck. AM radio, no a/c, and vinyl seats. I still miss it.

I don't car what anybody says 300-6 is the best motor Ford ever built. You can drain the oil out of it and still drive it.

RM, we changed the mains and rod bearings out in the driveway, just crawled up under it and went to work. Took a couple hours, and dad drove it til it hit 300k. Only reason we had to do them to begin with was the fuel pump diaphragm failed and diluted the oil with gasoline, scored them up real bad before we realized it.

My buddy's dad had a 300 I6 in his 77 F-250 and it blew a hole in the side of the block and still ran. Then he swapped in a 351C. I don't think he'll ever get rid of that truck.

I understand about the exposed metal on the headliner, that would piss me off too but you have to take into consideration you bought a Ford Ranger. Not a Lexus. There are going to be screw heads showing, plastic interior parts, etc. It's just part of the truck. As for the lean - yeah that's the way Ford's been making them since 1983. Detroit Lean baby! When people ask you why your truck is leaning, tell them it's from the excessive amount of torque.

Had a 1978 1/2 f-150 4x4 auto,351 modified, it was a hoss,Then had a 1979 f-100 302, had to put a cam.headers.intake and carb to make it right. Now I have a 1989 ranger 2.9 4x4 auto. It has on occasion been a money pit but all is well now. I like them crappy Fords.

I couldn't agree more. Of course, I have an F150 with the 300 in it, backed by a C6 and 9" rear. The old truck just reeks of "Built Ford Tough"......
