Y pipe

1999 3.0. Did a clutch job and just couldnt wiggle the trans out between the pipes so had to cut them. Rigged it up with flex pipe for now but need to replace the pipes. I am all diy so I’m looking for a reasonable replacement y pipe/cats. I’m wondering if I can use a later model 3.0 cat set up. So my question is are the 99 and 01 up manifolds the same? tia

Highly unlikely that a 4.0 y-pipe fits. It's an entirely different engine design. As far as earlier 3.0, maybe.

Maybe someone else can tell you more.

I don't see a '99 3.0 listing & my 2000 could use a new Y pipe.

Rock shows Davico 19241 for both the 3.0 and 4.0. The only difference I’ve found so far between 99 and 01-03 is the collector. I think I’m going to just replace the whole front ahead of the muffler. I’ve seen a Walker y pipe with no cats but I dont have the part #.

several sites do say it fits both 3.0 and 4.0
I know they are totally different engines, but if the ex manifolds dump in the same place it's possible.
that being said,,,,
Walker kit 2756089 contains a Y pipe 50207 that lists for an early Explorer.
it's a cat-less Y pipe and looks like a fit.
unfortunately those are hard to find.
