sorry the pics are so dark, but its on the drivers side of the block up towards the vavle cover above the starter

any idea what it is? oil pressure sender? it has a metal adapter looking deal going in the block then another deal threaded into that where a plug plugs up

Single wire? Probably the knock sensor.

can you do some gradually zooming in shots or where it is located it does kinda look like the oil press sender

Knock sensor. OPS is near the front of the block next to the fuel pump IIRC.

Yep. Knock Sensor. You may have oil on it, but it is not the cause of your leak. If it is, you have BIG issues.

heres a better pic of it http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy293/RyanSpivey/0723100030a.jpg

im trying to trace down my oil leak, so far ive done the timing cover seal, and the rear main, so i know its not the rear main. but im having leaking comming from the driversside rear of the motor, and its going down the bellhousing and getting on my tranny pan and exhaust. valve cover gasket? it doesnt leak that bad but sucks when i park and all that oil drips off my xmember(radius arm xmember) passenger side leaks a little bit but not as bad as the driver. i have to put maybe a 1/4 qrt every month or so

Yup like I said, knock sensor.

Might be the head gasket.
If it's coming from higher than that it could be the intake manifold gasket or the distributor O ring.

oils not comming from dipstick, and its not the head gasket, its higher then where the head meets the block

That sounds more like a valve cover gasket. But it could also be the lower section of the intake manifold gasket in the valley between the heads.

i get a little oil pooled up on the intake mani after i drive for a few miles too

Are you able to park, start the truck, keep it at driving rpms and maybe watch where the oil could be coming from (after cleaning up where the oil is)?

sounds like mine used to be I did the duraspark with valve guide seals new intake manifold gasket and permatexed the valleys good when I put i back on then reverse dimpled the valve cover bolt holes and snugged them down slow and even she holds oil now it used to leak a quart every 400 miles. As far as the knock sensor after you pressure wash the engine pull the connector apart and clean with electrical cleaner and use dielectric grease when you put it back together. To test it have someone tap on the block next to it while you have a timing light on it the timing should retard with the tapping just dont hit the sensor they break easy and not cheap unless you get a good one at the bone yard. It basically replaces the vacuum advance on a mechanical dizzy for upper end power.
