worth the trade?

I have stumbled upon a 1987 ford ranger with the 4d55 mitsubishi turbo diesel and the guy is willing to trade staight up for my '89 2.3l gasser. as far as i can tell from driving it it's perfect. But if I ever sold i want to know in a rough estimate what this thing is worth.

is it in good shape?

deisel rangers arent too common, i would do it.

its actually in very good shape. no major dents or dings. grille is still good, all glass is there with no cracks, and it has the original paint with little or no fades or rust.

the problem your going to run into since the diesel ranger was very limited production is parts availability when you go to fix something. most parts places will tell you ford never made a ranger with a diesel even tho we kno otherwise. just something to consider, other than that if you want the truck go for it, just keep in mind they were rated 85 hp vs our 2.3 gassers around 100. mileage is great on those from what i hear tho.
