Wont start, just a rapid fire clicking

ill try that tomorrow. and theres no way i can compare that little bite to what a home ac unit is putting out. DANG! you probly still twitch once in a while huh? i dont mess around with electricity. personally id rather kick a brahma bull in the grapes
and take my chances

THis is why you should use a screw driver, or something with insulation on the handle. Never handle anything all metal when jumping the solenoid.

Hello! Is anyone home?

Weird, I've done it a million and one times on my old Lincoln Continental with just a clevis pin as the ignition tumbler doesn't work anymore... All metal, no gloves or anything... never been shocked before!

the hold in windings in your solinoid arent getting enough power, check all your connections good, pull your positive off and try to clean it and the cable really good with a wire brush or terminal cleaner, if that doesnt work get a new solinoid, theyre like 12 dollars

or

or
it could be the teeth on the flywheel or starter making the nose...
Take a look, is the starter still bolted all the way in?

If it's that, it will just "whirrrrr" or more like a fast zipping noise. I think you can pretty much rule that out...
The starter gear moves so fast, that even if that WAS it, you wouldn't be able to distinguish a click. Just a loud buzzing noise.
