my buddy has a 91 nissan pick up an the radio wiring is ALLL messed up.. i pulled the ignition cover off an iam going to pull 12v out of that for the deck..
i tapped in to a wire that has 12 when the key is on.. the wire is the ignition wire... after it was all back together we tried it.. the deck comes on but seems to get jolts of power... it comes on an off.. iam wondering if its the deck or not? instead of pulling power off the ignition wire should i have pulled it from the accessory wire?

heres what i was going from..

I'd ask myself this... How much current do you think that wire can handle? If it melts, burns up, etc.; IMO, you're going to have an even bigger nightmare.

I don't know what you're dealing with, but if you have some wiring, it shouldn't be too difficult to determine what's ground, +, and memory with a volt meter...

I ran into this with a car I used to own, the dip shit cut the stock harness instead of getting a clip and used the same color wiring for everything. It was either rip out the dash and do it over or figure it out...

i understand what your saying but this is even worse.. theirs wires cut under the dash.. crimps.. .. under the engine compartment its pretty crappy.. the kid that had it before MESSED IT RIGHT UP.. an my buddy just wanted a radio in it so it wasnt so damn quiet lol
