Will a Bronco II Rear Sway Bar Fit a Ford Ranger Edge?

Yes, I went with much thicker front and rear bar after that rollover. I had just come out of some S-turns and was turning sharp right. The front jacked up thru the S-turns and the front tire hit a divot and olly-oops...
Using a very heavy bar in front is to try to prevent jacking up of the front suspension, and the heavy rear is to help swing the ass end around when needed. It is pretty rough ride. The aluminum seat is bolted directly to the cage, and there is minimal cushioning. About 3/4" of closed cell foam.
Wow! I get a nice sure footed feeling driving around the town but that stock ranger suspension gets a little squirmy at highway speed. I can appreciate why you beefed up.

I have the standard 93+ 5/8", bar in mine and is fantastic.

Not sure if the normal BII's used a 3/4" bar like a similar aged ranger or not. 2wd had 1" diameter bars and are kinda sought after.

I like my thinner one, it doesnt totally hose my articulation.
Good to know

Based in the sizes you are quoting, I think I have the same one you do.

Many off roaders prefer no sway bars at all.

For what I’ve done, I haven’t noticed a problem having them. But I’ve also not gone rock crawling or mud bogging either. For the more extreme off roading, I can see how sway bars would be a liability.

I would imagine that it would depend on the terrain

You get into the trails out west with a lot of rock and crevices to straddle or cross over or enough ditches or worn out trail with deep ruts, a sway bar can be a big detriment unless you have big tires and lots of lift.

On the flipside if ya gotta drive three days of interstate to get there...

I found a Bronco II but couldn't pull the sway bar off, not even with a breaker bar and a dead blow hammer. I got a few bolts loose after a couple hours. It was just way too rusty.

I'm thinking I will have better luck with a Mazda B series truck. Has anyone does this swap? Was the effort worth the results?

I've got an Explorer bar in the front. It's great. I do have a stock sway bar in back. It is about 5/8" thick, a little thin by my standards, so I bolted on a pair of spring pack clamps in back which reduces sway.

Note the clamp mounted about six inches forward of the axle.

The old Ranger front sway bar compared to the "new" Explorer; quite an improvement!

I just returned from the U PULL yard. Just like the tech section advised, there is a rear sway bar which fits. They did not mention it is the same size, not an upgrade. If you should want a 5/8" bar, you might as well pull one from a Ranger and be assured that it fits.

The Bronco II seem to be the only other U PU:LL upgrade. But some do not have the bigger 1" or 7/8" size. I learned that lesson the hard way too.

I'm glad I bought those rear leaf spring leaf clamps. They were easy to install.
