Will A 6 1/2" Fit?

I know anything is possible but, will a 6 1/2" speaker fit in the front door that has an OEM 5x7"? I tried it once before with an adapter plate but the plate was too thick and the door skin hit. I found another adapter on Amazon that is specifically made for a 1993-2011 but, before trying it again, I figured I'd ask to see if it would fit depth wise. Thanks!

IDK about your adapter, but there are lower profile speakers for some applications. The ones in my dash are like that. They don't protrude beyond the mounting flange at all.
