I bought a regular cab 2.3 last year and I really like it. However, I'm really missing the fact that I can't recline my seat back and have a little snooze. Automobile seats are so comfy and having a nice sound system makes me really enjoy simply being in the vehicle.

To me, getting rid of the 3L models was a no-brainer. But, I still don't understand why they don't offer a Supercab in the "most fuel efficient compact truck".

I can't imagine I'm the only one that wants a supercab 2.3. WTF?

i dont know if you mean 2.5 or what but i drove a 2.3 supercab once 4x4 and it was a dog didnt have power at all

Ranger's don't come with 2.4s. They come with 2.3s. And yes, you can get a supercab with a 2.3. Just not a 4wd, as the 2.3 is considered too weak to be pushing that much truck around. You wouldn't like, it would be too slow.

and on a side note that would probubly kill the economy of the 2.3

4cyl super cabs are not an option for us Canucks sadly.

And since the 3.0L is no more if i did not find my 2008 i would have gone to a toyota.

You used to be able to get a 2.3 and 4wd together, and the Duratec has even more power than the Lima did... I don't think it would be that bad of a combination... Of course the determining factor would be auto v manual... An automatic 4-banger truck feels so much slower than a 5-speed...

ah man, could've not announced that and let me find that for myself when I'am buying my next ranger. I want the 4 banger gas mileage and the ability to hit an offroad trail, weak.

Its a love hate relationship ford

whats wrong with the prius? my coworkers wife has one. great on gas mileage interior quality is top notch and it feels alot peppier than any NA 4 banger 3.0 ranger ive driven. Its damn quiet. if i was a gangster it'd be my preferred vehicle for a drive by.

Sorry, I meant 2.3L SuperCab.

Is does the Supercab really add alot of weight to the vehicle? I know it's possible to get them in the U.S., despite them not being listed on Ford's site. Sad that we can't get them up here in Canada.

I drive 1996 Ranger 2.3L supercab. I've had it weighed before, it came to around 3700 with me and my gear in it. And it has the stepside bed also. It gets about 21~24 city, 24~28 highway. Right now I'm averaging 21mpg city becuase of winter drving but I usually get 23mpg city in the summer. And its really not too slow either. Thou its a 5-speed manual, it will outpace 3.0L Ranger with an automatic.

everything is wrong with the toyota prius, males that drive them I question whether or not they have a pair? Great on gas, see thats what all dumb ass Americans think that the toyota prius is just the greatest alternative for high fuel prices, Volkswagon TDI line-up 60mpg highway. I'll stick to driving my noisy little 2.3L Duratec and you can buy your toyota prius and I'll point and laugh at you because you are only getting 10mpg's better than I'am while I'am not driving in the fishbowl.:icon_idea:

ok, i didnt say i was getting one, i didnt say they get the best mileage out there. it would still smoke your weak ass truck. are you not a dumb ass american?:icon_thumby:

well i wont lie about the prius, im not sold on the hybrid thing. sure its been good so far but how much is that electric motor when it goes out? and how much are those batteries you keep charging thatll go out too? id rather stick to a solid gas engine and just have those problems, not have an extra charging system and giant winch motor to worry about as well. im looking at an older 2.3 extended cab pickup, i currently own a 3.0 4wd auto, i have no complaints on power or speed, specially when im a nose ahead of a 5.0 mustang up to 40 mph. after that i lose and they go, but the initial worry is worth it, plus when they pull away and get the tkt! lol. i guess ford has followed the trend of toyota on their models, you can get a 4 cylinder tacoma and 4 cylinder ford regular cab 2wd or 4wd, but when you step up to an extended cab v6 only. i love my extended cab for the extra leg room and seat reclining ability, and the fact that i can throw so much shit in the back or add speakers! ill take the v6 if thats the deal, just give me a small bore, too bad they did away w/ the 3.0 in my opinion.

Volkswagon TDI line-up 60mpg highway.

deisel is also considerably more expensive than gas.

figure the prius gets 48 MPG highway. gas in my area is $2.19/gal vs deisel at $2.79/gal. that comes out to the prius being fractionally cheaper to drive than a TDI. and back when deisel hit $5 a gallon here (and it will again), the TDI was more expensive to drive than a regula non-hybrid gas vehicle.

any man whos so insecure in his masculinity that he cant be seen by his friends driving an economical vehicle needs to invest in some extenze.
