Why no Supercab 2.4?

ok, i didnt say i was getting one, i didnt say they get the best mileage out there. it would still smoke your weak ass truck. are you not a dumb ass american?:icon_thumby:

yeah because I'am broke:thefinger:

and no I'am not a dumb ass conservative american that thinks just because they are going to go out and buy a prius they are going to save our planet.

deisel is also considerably more expensive than gas.

figure the prius gets 48 MPG highway. gas in my area is $2.19/gal vs deisel at $2.79/gal. that comes out to the prius being fractionally cheaper to drive than a TDI. and back when deisel hit $5 a gallon here (and it will again), the TDI was more expensive to drive than a regula non-hybrid gas vehicle.

any man whos so insecure in his masculinity that he cant be seen by his friends driving an economical vehicle needs to invest in some extenze.

prius is GAY:icon_thumby:

and NO the diesel ISNT more expensive to run maybe in Alaska?
in California you can buy something called "Bio-Diesel" and it isnt veggie oil its 1/2 or 3/4 diesel with some mixture and its a couple dollars less then diesel at the gas station. The only problem is the service on a VW is ridiculous. But the prius probably isnt much further behind it considering it needs new BATTERIES every couple years, and Ill tell you what if I'am going to needing more then one battery I better be running a massive stereo or hitting three wheel motion in it.
:icon_cheers:

i live in washington.

do the math, at 2.19/gal for gas and 2.79/gal for diesel, a 60 MPG VW is more expensive to run than a 48 MPG prius.

biodeisel is NEVER a COUPLE DOLLARS cheaper then regular deisel. its usually 10-20 cents cheaper...sometimes it even costs more than regular diesel fuel. there is a biodiesel plant about 30 miles from my house.

I understand where your coming from about the gas prices getting more gas for cheaper less gas more expensive

The last place I worked the guy in the back worked on the diesel generators that they ran on the biodiesel that it was for $2 or so cheaper then diesel at the pump.

Tough diesel emissions standards have raised the cost of fuel and initial purchase price while somewhat reducing efficiency and power. Meanwhile, direct injection and turbocharging are becoming more popular in gasoline engines, narrowing some of the efficiency with diesels.

Another thing is Diesel should be only used for industry, Trains, Big rigs, bulldozers etc. IMO, we got too many big truck "wannabes" out there, doing nothing more than increasing the demand for diesel, by using it as a daily driver fuel.

I don't agree that diesel should only be used for industry, but for daily drivers(not trucks) why not. There more efficient have more horsepower and last a lot longer than unleaded motors. I do agree that we have people out there that go out and buy the wannabe trucks that have the useless lifts are pointless but you aren't going to stop them as long as they have the money to pay for it. But then you have the people such as contractors, construction workers, and whether or not you want to consider firemen as wannabes but I noticed a lot of the lifted RED powerstrokes in my city have the little fire helmet on it. :icon_cheers:

The stuff being run in generators is not taxed as fuel. It is not to be used on the highways.

The threads title is quite disturbing!:annoyed:

Yeah, the reason #2 fuel oil (diesel) is so cheap is because it doesn't have state, and federal road taxes attached to it... Therefore, if someone finds out you are putting #2 fuel oil in your truck you get hit with tax evasion and other legal stuff I'm not quite so sure I'd want happening to me...

good, who said I wanted to pay the Federal government!

they swoop up on all of your money, I didnt ever realize that it was because it wasn't taxed.

it would be pretty hard to tell if you were running different diesel than is at the pump and no one on here is about to tell me that some dumb pig is going to be able to tell.

Offroad diesel, the nontaxable diesel, is dyed a bright red. All they have to do is dip something in it to see the color of diesel. It also has a far greater amount of sulfer in it. They will hit you with tax invasion and most likely with impound your vehicle. Not worth the few dollars it will save you at the pump.

HMMM... I guess i shoulda read the whole thread..

Yup, we've got about 50 gallons of the red stuff, lol... You should know that taxes are one thing they make it easy to find out if you are messing around with... Wish I "could" run it in my truck, lol... It'd be nice...

basically impossible for anybody to find out?

its not like every oil change is sent to the government

the government would have to go into your tank or rip the motor apart?
