Who else drove a “crappy” car, but loved it and never wanted to trade it?

Yellow 1967 MGB aka "the peanut." Loved it - rebuilt everything but the tranny and rear end. The coolest thing about it was that everything was re-buildable and I mean EVERYTHING. Ever seen a mechanical voltage regulator? I learned more about cars fixing that one than on all others since.

'79 amc concord. 232 I-6. had gold-painted cragar s/s rims with chrome trim rings, metallic green. looked good but wasnt remotely fast. best thing about it was it had big bucket seats up front that reclined fully. those were the days.......

My 94 Dodge Intrepid. has 174,000 on it, paint has peeled off the roof and a/c does not work anymore (debating on tearing the dash out to replace the evap core). car starts and runs no matter what weather, and gets 31mpg on the highway still. I still drive it to IL to pick up my son every other weekend.

1978 Datsun 810 wagon. 2.4L inline 6, fuel injected. I paid $325 and put another $100 in it to make it run good (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, new (used) harmonic balancer, and new belts). It would not die, never failed to start........ Might still be running around Biloxi MS to this very day, I traded it for a 91 reg cab short box 2wd Ranger with a 4.0L/5spd back in 1994.

another good one was my 89 grand am. bought it from this really hot girl I used to work with for $500 because she thought the starter was out and it had a bad heater core (and she wanted a 72 F100). all i did was hook up a push button to the starter wand it worked....... easiest heater core I have ever changed, took all of 10 min.

my tercel(97, yeah not that old) vibrated as a sob the engine mounts always became loose. auto trans apparently had to do with it, and the fact that toyota only designed 3 mountings instead of 4 like the rest of FWD cars. it had a bumpy susp too, but it was cool to "race around". traded it for the Ranger cuz i blew the engine 4 times lol.

the 83 Ranger was a case in itself too, brake booster was done so stoping it was pretty interesting, the starter failed due to a damaged flywheel and starting it took like 20 mins lol. u could tow it for a "pushed start" all that day it wouldnt start. it had the perkins diesel engine and 4 speed trans, hell it even had a dual diesel tank setup

'82 peugeot 505S turbodiesel.. it leaked.. and when i say it leaked it leaked everything:shok: power steering fluid .. engine oil.. coolant all over the engine bay....
when it rained the sunroof leaked on your head and the windshield leaked so bad it was like a monsoon in the car. lol i loved that thing.. it had beautiful seats when they were dry lol .. and the engine never failed to start.

'84 Olds Omega. Great car when I got it, had a fairly new paint job. It needs some motor/trans work and a fender now but I can't part ways with it even though I can't find one anywhere. I am going to fix that thing up.

87 Jetta. Loved it, though it had no a/c, no p/s and power brakes in name only. Manual everything. Base model car, and I loved it like it was a Rolls. Actually had it totaled by some idiot kid ina Tercel - bought it back and rebuilt it. Drove it another 3 years, and some douche in an Exploder T-boned me (he had defective brakes, admitted as much to me and the cop, and said he was going out to 'test' them). Totaled again. Rebuilt again, but it was never right after that. Another few years and it was parted and junked after it left me stranded on the highway one cold January day.

Still hated to let it go...
