Who else drove a “crappy” car, but loved it and never wanted to trade it?

I drove a 1995 Honda Accord with 210,000 miles. There's no power windows or locks or anything (they broke). And my dashboard would vibrate violently when I went too fast, but I loved it. It was a great car. Runs very reliably, gets great gas mileage. It cost my dad 3,000 dollars years ago, and my sister drove it before me. She complained about it all the time. I had it after her, and I loved it. Heck, the only thing I ever did was basic DIY stuff that AutoMD or driverside tells me. Sadly, I’ve moved on from that car, but I’m keeping it in my garage so hopefully I can give it to my kid someday.

Anybody else?

Yeah. A 1986 Isuzu Pickup. My truck for senior year in high school. That thing was such a POS, vibrated like hell on the thruway. But $800 and it got me through school.

My '96 ranger, bought it for $800 and it lasted me 1 1/2 years. I thought about selling it (kinda wish i did now) but I just couldnt part with it, everyone knew it was mine. People always tell me they cant imagine me driving anything else. Oh and it got me through my junior year and half of senior year of high school

91 ford festiva got it for 3 hundred bucks and drove the hell out of it. NO gauges worked and it ended up catching on fire twice It turned out the ground cable broke on the block it would fry smaller grounds and they would catch on fire and burn up rewired it and sold it for 300 bucks.

92 z24...best car ever...got it for $200 from a drug dealer (no joke here!!! he was SHADY)

busted motor mount and all....first time in a standard...SOOO MUCH FUN

i really miss that car!

My '97 Ranger.

Love that truck. Had just over 200k when I got it, though...and even Rangers start to wear out when they get that old. Drove it all through college, though...and it's still sitting out in the driveway. Drove it to work yesterday, I think- or maybe the day before.

Only thing that ever really got old was being a 2wd in New England.

i still drive my 93 geo metro 1.0 cyl every day 227k miles still goes! had to rebuild motor, new clutch/tranny, now i have to put a fuse in to make the ignition work then pull it to kill the engine. POS=MPG

I had a gold 1985 honda GL that was a utter piece of crap. But i got it for 200 bucks. and was able to safety it with about 45 minutes of dent removal and some spray paint.

It lasted 5 years of Non stop abuse. In the end the windshield was cracked in 5 places. The 5 speed manual transmission only had 3 gears left. The car was starting to bend in the middle and had more fiberglass then steel holding it together.

But it Would Not Die. It started every single time no matter how cold it got outside(and it can get damn cold here). When the rear door decided that it would not open any more when someone was sitting in the front seat I decided that the car was beyond unsafe and parked it.

It sat for a year before i got around to getting it wrecked.

My friend brought a flatbed to take it to the wreckers.

It started and drove on to the flatbed first time. What a great hunk of junk.

my ranger when i first got it when i was 15, about 6 years ago. it was a pile. it had the original 2.0 in it. damn thing'd only go 36 mph downhill with a strong backwind before that poor thing finally locked up. 3 hours after i bought it the rear brake line burst and i just crimped the line and never fixed it. since then that truck has seen three different engine and tranny combos, idk how many sets of rear tires, and two license suspensions before i parked it. im just glad i kept and finally decided after looking at it sitting in my yard to put a 302 in it and make some more memories.

I had a 92 Honda Accord EX with the SOHC 2.2L, but it wasn't crappy, it was awesome. It had power everything, none of which worked. :D My dad has it now.

my 87 ranger 4x4 with a 2.9 and 6 inch lift and stocks...haha and straight pipe.. thing was spray painted black, dented, blew smoke. got it for 600 bucks

Haha great story.

I had 3 dodge neons ages 14-20 and got made fun of all the time by friends but loved em all. The 1st gen neon is great for E-breaking everywhere.

But in that thime I bought a 92 2.3 5spd ranger from the dude next door. He said something to my brother about selling it for $500, I didnt need a truck but for $500 I thought what the heck. LOVED IT. I do drywall finishing so I get all my trucks so nasty and never want to clean em. Never cleaned that truck once. It had been totaled from a rear end hit it took, windows didnt roll down, E-break didnt work, I had to push start it alot, and when it blew a head gasket I scraped it for half what I payed.

I used to have a 1984 Jetta diesel, no telling how many miles it had cause the odometer quit at 285,000. You couldn't impress anyone with the looks of it but it was a good deal for $800.00

1977 Nova - Inline 6 bought it for around $500.00 when I was 17 busted the crank two months after I had it my dad helped me build a 383 stroker and found a 4 speed to put behind it. Ugly as sin and fast to boot. I sold the body after i had worn it out but I kept the block and trans and put it into a s10 blazer that I totaled, Now the block Is sitting in my 85 silverado desperately in need of a rebuild... trans went the way of the dodo about 3 years ago.
