Well I have both a dual (in my old 84 ranger) and a Pioneer in my new 99 ranger and I can say right now that they are both awesome companies. Many people here would say that Dual is a cheap crap company but I have only had one problem with my dual deck. And thats cause it needs cleaned out because the lazer is covered in dirt and won;t read CD's right now.

Bang for the buck I would go with dual for your cheap deck because like you said it comes with WAY more features, Aux ports, USB, ect.... But Pioneer is a good brand and I haven't had complaints about it either but then again My deck was the 200$ 4100 from the premier line. It has lower watts then other ones in the same range but it still got great reviews.

But I would go with the Dual if you want a good cheap deck.

I've owned Sony's, then JVC's, and now Pioneer. The first two gave me every reason to look for a new brand because of poor quality and performance. Since switching to Pioneer, I've owned 6 decks by them and never regretted buying one of them. I can count on 2 fingers how many times they have skipped on me (even though my latest I use USB only).

That said, I would vote Pioneer even though I have no experience with Dual. If I could make a suggestion; spend a bit more and get a Pioneer USB deck. I love it!

I choose neither. Not my style. But I choose pioneer over dual anyday... Get a double din and get rid of those ac controls!!!

But if on a budget, just get the one with the most attachments/watts or whatever you like truly. Cause when you start worrying about true quality you'll want better speaks possibly an amp.

This is the deck I got, and I freakin' love it.

Pioneer DEH-P3100UB

I have had Pioneer off and on since i was 16,Super tuner my a$$,never had one that picked up worth a crap.
The cheap JVC I have now is better as far as radio goes plus the Aux and USB connection.I could care less about the Cd ,I plug in a cheap thumb drive loaded with tunes and go with it.
Get the one with the most features and go with it.Anything under the $300 mark is what it is in my book.

Both of them are 70 dollars. My dad is getting me a new unit for my graduation. He introduce me to crutchfield.com and everything is cheap but great quality with his experience. if you looked at both pages they both had aux and usb ports but the dual was 17 watts apposed to 14. Also the dual has a 6 channel pre amp set up and like I said earlier I think the buttons on the pioneer look too cheap. Cd player I don't really need. Just my ipod. And down the line I plan on new speakers and and amp if I want it a bit louder. So bottom line. Between just those two links. Which one

Yeah crutchfield has good stuff but in no way is it cheap! The reason i buy from them is because ts about 10% cheaper then the stores up here and the only ones that offer free shipping to alaska.

Heres one for 20 dollars more, it has a few more features and doesn't look cheezy.

i have the pioneer like the second choice of yours but mine has the usb. great unit. the only thing i hate about it is its hard to set the clock.but other then that its great

pioneer. there was a dual in my truck when i got it. it was crap. i wouldnt waste that much money on a radio and it not be any good. if your going to spend that kind of money splurge a couple extra bucks and get the pioneer. i have a pioneer in mine now. iv had it two years with 0 problems everything worked as it should no shorts nothing... the dual would crap out on my sometimes and stop playing.

heres a pioneer with more features iv personally installed one.

and crutchfield is overpriced like you said. but sonicelectronix is cheaper and same quality. and free mounting hardware idk about shipping

crutchfield i think is a great deal. i think i'm getting the one you and original ranger linked me to. but on crutchfield its 10 bucks cheaper. i like the look of it. also. i like the red and grey/black. i might change my dash colors down the line. thanks for all the help and suggestions. ill let you know which one i get and how everything goes

its funny because i looked in my older brothers truck and he has the deh 2200 and i'm getting the 3300. we basically have the same truck but hit is a 97. we both wanted to lift our trucks. i apperently have more determination. almost everything about my truck its better. bigger tires, better radio...... it seems like its always a competition between us. WINNING!

Hmm maybe they have gotten better about pricing, I remember crutchfield wasn't always the best deal but they always have sales going on.

I agree you won't be sorry, Glad we could help!
