2007 Ranger AM-FM Cd radio- intermittent no audio in drive/reverse

Hi, All...Interested in hearing from those that have experienced/solved this issue
I have an 07 Ranger Sport- 3.0 with AM-FM Cd radio
Intermittently, I'll lose audio in Drive/Revere and 1 and 2. It will come on/cut out as I move column shifter. Radio turns on, display always functions but no audio
It's an intermittent problem that seems aggravated in rainy/humid conditions
Heard it might be the trans range sensor...replaced that with new...didn't solve.

Who's had/solved this problem?

Is this an aftermarket stereo? Most electrical problems I see is where stereos and trailer lights are hardwired instead of with plug and play adapters are usually available for most aftermarket equipment.

OEM stereo..never disturbed

Does 07 have steering wheel audio controls? If so might be something to look into.

I thought I'd follow up with closure on the above issue. I did change the trans range sensor.. and except for one instance right after installing the new TRS, (Computer reprogram?). It has SOLVED my issue.
