which radio would you pick?

I don't have a sub in my Ranger. I bought the Pioneer D Series 6X8's that sound amazing, so I haven't put in a sub. Definitely thought about it.

My experience with a sub is in my Mustang. I have a 2009 model Pioneer deck with the same sub control as my Ranger's.

What are the dimensions of the tube?

Its an 8" tube so in reality its like 10" tall and like a foot and a half long

it looks so funny though. everything about that interior says old and then theres my pioneer.

It could be worse... a lot worse. Personally I wish there was a way to get something resembling a factory style radio to control a hidden aftermarket one under the seat or something.

It looks kinda goofy at night with my fairly dim geen dash lighting and a bright blue and white CD player.

They actually do have stuff like that but its kind of expensive. You can keep your factory stereo then run it to a port that will allow you to plug in Ipods and USB's and then hook up amps for subs and speakers. I think htye did it beccause most newer vehicles have built in radios that are a nightmare to replace.

Time to get some blue and white lighting I think? :icon_thumby:

My stock radio was probably too crude, it was just a basic AM/FM. I have seen it for older (like 50's) cars but I haven't seen anything for the '80's.

I like the green... it isn't so blinding and goes with the green truck.

I've seen them strapped in the back of Ranger's horizontally before. I wonder if you could do something vertical :icon_confused:?

I've also seen these enclosuress by Clarion. I had the same sub (different enclosure) in my Explorer, and it sounded great. It should work in a supercab too, I would think.

EDIT: It's also powered, and the amp in it is decent.

RMS is another story. Plus sound quality. I am not saying dual is bad, but that pioneer is better.
