Lord God is my guardian
Doing memory exercises to help from my brain injury a few years ago. Was in the garage staring at my ranger and started to think how long I have owned, mileage, memories, etc.

Curious to know what ford's you have owned the longest current or in the past. I know a few have had them come and go, b2, explorers, f series, rangers etc.

Would enjoy the mileage also.

I had my 88 ranger from 89 to 98..dad bought it used for me when I turned 16 and got my license in 89. I worked to pay insurance and payments. Sold it to a friend's dad in 98 and it had 300,000 miles.

I bought my 94 new and still have him today..641, 437 miles he keeps going.

I had another 94 ranger with a 4.0 5spd 70,000 original miles. Bought that in 2004 from the California forest department, drove it for 7 months. A friend needed a small truck, he bought it.

I had a 97 ranger 2.3 5spd for awhile some years ago, which I eventually had a 3.0 5spd swapped in, drove that for a year or and sold that to a friend.

I had a 06 focus with an auto for awhile to help with my shoulder surgeries..dad wrecked that.

When he passed I kept his 94 f150 5.0 for a little while. He bought that new, same time I bought my current 94 3.0 ranger. Not sure what to do with it, didn't wanna sell it, I couldn't keep it. I gave it to my brother n law and sister in 2021. They still have it to this day.

Someday I would like to own another 93-97 3.0 5spd ranger.

Would enjoy hearing about your rides.

I owned my 05 Sport Trac XLS 4x4 the longest. I bought it new with 4 miles on it. I drove it till 2015. It had 275k when I traded it in. I wished I'd just kept it. They only gave me 2800 for it trade in. It was a base with rubber floors and nothing fancy. Only picture I have is of the front driver fender haha. My son was 4 helping me wash it and wife grabbed a picture.

Ive owned rusty #1 since 1987.

My LTD II? Since 03

My 77 F250? Since 2012

My 97 F250? Since 2013.

Longest ive ever held onto vehicles

So far the 2011 XLT is the one I've owned the longest. The 1998 that I had was ok for what it was and was a good fill in the gap vehicle while I had it but it never really met my needs and what I wanted to do with a truck. I had bought it off a coworker with a blown engine. Replaced the engine with one from the junkyard and revitalized it mechanically as well as did some improvements. The original plan was to give it to my daughter as a vehicle to drive but she was reluctant to learn for the longest time. When I sold it to a friend, I already had the 2011 by then and the 1999 Honda CR-V. It was just an added expense that didn't need to be there. It had around 200K on the chassis and 100K on the frame when I sold it.

The 2011 now has about 101K on it and I owned new off the dealer lot. So, it's a little over 12 years old now. It's "birthday" is April 1st (go figure), so not quite 13 years old yet. It's definitely not the longest I've ever owned a vehicle though.

I had a 1981 Mercury Lynx (Ford Escort) for about two years. That thing was so under powered and unreliable, I didn't keep it long.

The 2019 FX4 would be the second oldest Ford I've owned. Before the 1998, we were pretty much a GM and Japanese vehicle family, at least until GM really started cheapening their products, then we were pretty much owning exclusively Japanese vehicles. The 1998 sold me on how decent at least some Ford products could be.

My 85, I got it in 2000 so 23 years.

Showed 25k, I think it shows around 65k now.

Speedometer is one of the few things i haven't changed.

I bought my 73 E300 Super Van in 1978. Had it not been stolen by a scraper I would own it still, and had hoped to.
Second up I suppose my current Ranger, since 2006

I got my 65 mustang in 1993 and sold it in 1999.

The oinly vehicle i have owned longer is my 71 karmann ghia. I got it in 96 and sold it 2008.

Everything else is 2-3 years max

Had an 88 F150 4x4 for about 28 years. I miss that truck.

First car was an '85 Tempo GL 4 door with the CFI 2.3L (not Lima...), had it a year and a half before I made a mistake turning left into a gas station and it got totaled.. Then in November of '99 I got the '90 Ranger, it showed 89k miles at that time (5 digit), I've seen 0's twice and it's showing like 20k? don't drive it much anymore but that's coming on 24 years... the speedo and the rest of the dash are about all I haven't changed (I have changed the cluster to get a tach, original speedo though).

Had a few other daily drivers, put like 75k on a Justy, 100k on a Tracker, got my '00 5L Explorer with 206k with plans to build it into an offroader in '16, ended up daily driving it for 50k miles and it has 256k miles on it now... got my '97 Ranger with 142k on it in '19 and it has 205k on it now... my '97 F350 got in '13 with like 327k on the clock and it's 355k now but the speedo hasn't worked for a few thousand miles, it works now though...

The green 93 4wd supercab ranger was my longest vehicle ownership. Had it 14 years, loved that truck. 4.0 ohv , 5speed, 3.73’s , would do anything I asked of it. 18 mpg on my daily commute. I still have the original rims from it and the grille guard from it is on the current ranger I drive.

• 1987 Ranger S 4×4 regular cab/long bed; bought in 1988 with 27k miles, currently 193k on chassis
• 1985 Ranger XLT regular cab/long bed; bought in 1994 with 121k, sold in 1998 with 129k.
• 1987 BroncoII XLT 4×4; bought in 1998 with 72k, currently 167k on the chassis.

I bought my 94 new and still have him today..641, 437 miles he keeps going.

Same here with mine, but your mileage is insane. I'm only at 220 and change.
Seems like your memory is fine -- keep it up .

I've owned a few Fords, but the one I had the longest was my 66 Mustang, bought in 78 for $300.00, married in 79, had a kid in 84 and the Mustang didn't make a very good family car with a baby and a car seat, so I guess I had it 6 years.

Wife insisted I loved that car more than her.

Ooh.. I'm not sure. My longest time in a single ford would either be the '10 ranger or the '21..

... just checked my credit report lol...

Had the '10 for 3 years, and the '21 for 2 and change. Actually spent more time in the '21 though... 41k miles or so.

04 XLT super cab, Edge 4x4 bought new in March of 05. it died in 2020 with 180,000 miles
my 1934 Ford coupe was bought in 1996, took a year to get it road worthy & to pass the
state inspection. still playing with it (y)
