I am going to trim my fenders and add some flares. I read the trimming in the tech section and did not look like I want mine. I am looking for pictures of trucks with trimmed fenders and flares. Is there a thread or can you guys post some up.

This one has flares. I think the fenders are cut judging by the size of the tires.

You didn't say they had to be good flares. If he would just rubber coat them they would't look half bad.

I think I saw a guy use landscape edging. I think bushwhackers are too big and cost to much.

I guess it depends on how wide your tires are.

I do agree that Bushwhackers cost too much.

At one point I tried to get a set of the newer Ranger flares that look like they bolt on...they are round but Gen I wells are sort of squared...but I figured I could make them work...Ford quoted me some outrageous price like $125 each so I decided I would do without them...and they were not even sticking out much so it wasn't like I would be coverring wider tires.

I like the cool pool flares on that BII...like something I would do and drive it till somebody said something...

Here is a pic of my 84......

The rears are cut, the front are fiberglass (3" flair/3" cut out). On the rears i just split fuel tubing and urethane'd it on there (avoiding a sharp edge). They have been this way for a long time now and have never had to mess with the tubing (it coming off or anything). I know they are not flair'd, I had thought of getting the fiberglass bedsides at one time (to match the fronts), but I think I will go with a flatbed now....

My tires are shot and my fender wells have body rot. I think I could get away with 30 x 9.5 x 15, if I trim the fenders. I think the flare will look clean. I going to pick and pull tomorrow for some parts so I will have to troll for flares etc...

This was without an engine installed and the 31s were still on the truck. After a 3 inch body lift to install the 5.0, I went to 33s and they never rub. For flares I bought Performance Flexy Flares. Don't have a current pic, but the 2 1/4 inch flares work perfect for my needs. I riveted them on.

I have 31X10.50s on my 87, and I barely trimmed. I didn't touch the rear, took a little bit off the back of the front wheel wells, just started about half-way up and swept the arch back a bit, and then took the corners off the front. Check my build thread, I think I have pics.
