When and how much did you pay for your Ranger?

I think I made an extremly good purchase myself. I bought a 2006 ranger sport, (100k), 2wd 3.0 v6, manual, with quad cab, no ac, for $7800 plus taxes. I made this purchase last year. I see trucks like mine going for up to an extra 2 grand.
Whats more interesting is 10 years ago I bought a basic 96 Ranger 2.3 single cab for $8000 plus taxes, although it only had 50k.
I am Amazed that with all the inflation in the past ten years that I bought a better Ranger for less money. Even though it has 50k more then my last ranger it's all highway because the steering wheel and peddles have very little wear on them and the seats feel firm like nobody sat in it before.

i bought my 87 about 5 years ago for $350. Blown trans, engine in pieces in bed, other than that though it was in decent shape!

My 88 got 3 years ago did some work on a friends house couldn't pay me so gave me the truck. Only needed the general maintenance work done too it. Total for labor was 600.00 dollars.

95 ranger xlt, 2.3, 5 speed.

Paid $400 bucks for it a couple of weeks ago.

Runs and drives good... I've put about 2,000 miles on it since I've had it.

Bought my 1994 B4000 about a year and a half ago for 4000. Loved driving it until it broke down and has been sitting in my garage ever since. Not too much longer and she will be running. Still waiting on parts to arrive from USA. If you think she was overpriced you would be right. But when you consider I talked them down from 7000 I did pretty well. I know it was about a 2500 truck in USA but then you have to remember it was shipped here and import fees were paid. So they guy that brought it down just about broke even on the deal.

My first Ranger I bought for $800 including a cap and 4 extra rims and tires...88 regular cab with a wonky 2.0...

Second Ranger cost me $500 and was in better shape body wise but needed much work...could have had it on the road for about $200 but I don't know exactly how much I paid to get it to where it is now...only has 425,000 km on the clock...but that is a long story that won't get told today...

$800 three years ago.Bought it in january with no heat.Previous owner couldn't fix it.

paid $150 for it in december of 2003, drove it home, 9 years later and the only parts I haven't changed are the framerails, and steering box.

I got a super good deal on mine. 2008 4x4 Sport 4.0 212,000km for $5500. I actually wasn't looking for a pickup truck (have a Jeep TJ I wanted to replace) but when I saw the price on this one relative to the rest and the year I had to go for it! And that's how I became a first time Ranger owner 2 weeks ago.

1200 bucks in Late December 09. 135K and fresh paint (but bondo filled fenders that've since cracked)

Works for me!

Bought the '94 10 years ago for $3,700, then 8 years old with 66,000. Now has 205,000 miles and still my daily driver. Best purchase I ever made.

In May '11 for 600 bucks. for a truck worth tops, 300 scrap. When I was tearing it down, for clutch and frame, then brake issues, I was sorely tempted to take the loss. But what kept me shining on was how nice the Rat ran in spite of its sad condition. The truck had been sitting for a yr under a maple tree. Inside, it smelled of wet dog. Started easy from a jump box. The clutch was shot, the kid said. "it wont go over 30 mph" I drove it 300 ' backed it up. Yes, the clutch was shot but good enough to get home on if I drove it easy. It ran great but was low on gas, a qt low on oil. I aired up the tires and drove it home on the highway at a sedate 55 mph so as not to attract attention. The tear down was worse than I had envisioned. Mission creep set in. The rear U joint. exhaust and most of the brake system were added to the Fix Or Replace, Dummy, list. I have put 2500 miles on it. Enough to know that the driveline is AOK with the exception of a weepy front diff cover and a leaky steering box. It passed state inspection. Its OBD1, so it doesnt have to pass emissions. It does everything I want it to, so I'm happy with it.

PS, What I set out looking for was a 4cyl stripper 4x4 Tacoma, etc. It had to be ODB1 too. Tacos or T 100s of that era, are rusted away to nothing. Fords are way more common. My brother's '10 Taco 2wd started this.

This is the honest to gods truth.... I bought it on FRIDAY THE 13th, June 13 2003, for $13,000 and it had 13,000 miles on it! I didn't even realize it until about a month later. Good thing I'm not superstitious. I bought mine over the phone from a dealer in Mass. and had it shipped to Missouri, site unseen. So far, except for my recent timing chain tensioners issue I haven't had much trouble with it at all.
