When and how much did you pay for your Ranger?

1992 supercab, a year ago. 3000$

Had a bodylift, so it looked nice.

Jelous of all the good deals on here! Where I am it's hard to find wheels under 2k that will move on their own..

Dirt Cheap

Bought my 1990 Ranger extended cab with blown heads for $100 from a buddy of mine. He even towed it 20 miles to my house.

1994 Ranger

Bought 1994 long bed 2.3 engine with approx 300k miles. Runs and drives with almost new tires last month for $200.

I bought my '92 on Christmas Eve 2002 for $2,975, had 84k miles. That just made me realize I've had it 10 years, boy time flies.

Bought mine July of 09 for $9200 w/ 65k on the clock. The best is that it will be paid off in 2 weeks 7 months early. :D

Bought my 99' in May of 08' with 130k on the clock. Had new tires, new brakes, fresh oil change and was very well maintained. Paid $5k for it.

I found my '88 Custom Hi Ryder on a lot in 1994, unknown true mileage, 2.9, 4x4, power steering, air, 2" body lift, camper shell and carpet kit, 31's on alloy wheels. $2500.
Improvements and replacement are at least 1.5x purchase price.

The '88 Extra Cab, found in the desert in 2010, unknown true mileage, 2.9, 4x4, power window, locks, steering, air, 31's on chrome/steel wheels, transfer case in the back seat, 4ald transmission missing, some body damage, rough interior, $400.
I probably have a grand+ in improvements, (manual conversion), repair/replacement, etc.

Bought my last Ranger from someone here on site. A 2000 four door XLT off-road package, true buckets, 4.0L with Auto, 159K miles on it for $4000 - still going strong. Too many oithers and have no idea of cost.

Got my 92 for free cause my mom was going thru bankruptcy...

Got my 93 ex-cab 4.0 5 speed 4x4 for $1000, needed a t-case. Friend bought me the t-case and put it in for me to repay a debt, and it ran like a champ. Got a few issues with it, but considering the same truck goes for $3000-$4000 here, I think I got a deal....

and 89 ranger 2.3l 2011 520.00 put new engine, radiator, A/C compressor, brakes and 8.8 swap finished total in truck 2200.

I picked up my 91 Supercab back in 2008 for $1k from a friend, he told me I could have it for 800, but I gave him what he had on the window anyway. A 2.9L powers the beast, it has a manual transmission and manual transfer case, and I think it had about 140-150k on the odometer when I took possession. I have it up to about 210k miles now, and have run it from Michigan to Arizona and back twice, as well as adding a few more dings here and there.

I have changed quite a few parts over the last five years, including: 2-3 clutches, clutch master/slave cylinder and line, 2-3 leaf springs, rear shocks, a transmission, new lockout hubs, front rotors, new brakes twice, brake lines, brake booster, radiator, radiator hoses, heater fan, distributor/cap/coil, throttle position sensor, gaskets from the head up, exhaust twice, header on one side, fuel pump, air filter, carrier bearing (today), and of course plugs/wires/etc.

I am sure I've forgotten things, but at this point it feels like I have changed more than I have left untouched. I probably would not have had to change some of these multiple times if not for my habit of loading it up with close to 2000 pounds in the bed and running it across the country in two days. I must say that this truck is very solid, and will go through about anything with just standard 165/75R15 tires. I have not found anything that requires 4L, it will crawl through waist deep snow in 4H, and has pulled a full sized Dodge 4x4 out of the snow on several occasions.

I would like to get into some body work, but unfortunately my budget has kept work restricted to essential mechanical items. The body is starting to seem pretty rough though, so hopefully I will be able to increase my income soon so I can get working on cosmetic repairs.

I also have an 89 standard cab that I picked up in 2011 for $1.2k. That truck had seven 33x12.5's and two 33x10.5's for tires, as well as sitting on about 6" of lift. I mostly picked it up for parts, since it also has a 2.9L engine. The truck has a lot of body roll due to the lift though, so I do not like it as a driver. I sold five of the tires for $500, so I am only out $700 for everything that is left.

I want to pull the bumpers and rollbar to put on the 91, as they are 1/4" thick steel tubing, though I need to modify the mounting brackets to get them to work. The truck also has racing style bucket seats that I am considering using to replace the 60/40 bench, although the bench is in good condition excepting a busted slide on the drivers seat.

Bought my '02 in February of '09 for $6400 with 157,XXX miles on it. It's needed an output shaft bearing in the trans, ball joints and a couple front hubs. Other than that, it has been dead nuts reliable and an all around great truck.

My '95 Dakota SLT I bought in October of 2012 for $2000 with 132,XXX miles. 2wd club cab V6 5-speed with no options and one rusty fender. As of November 9th 2012 it has a slightly worked(275hp 340tq) 5.2 Magnum V8 (318) Gibson shorties, full 3in. exhaust from the custom y-pipe back, Mopar Performance computer scored from the JY, ported and polished Holley throttle body on the stock keg with shortened runners, smoothed out intake ports in the heads, 1.7 Harland Sharp roller rockers, still a 5-speed with a bench seat, a/c pulled out, electric fan a crushed bed corner and still has that damn rusty fender. Oh well, it's the tow pig/parts runner/chick magnet. Wisconsin girls love the rumble of a V8!

Got my '94 for $1500 in July. It only has 94k miles too. It already was lifted and had the wheels and tires. All it needed was a clutch but I replaced the flywheel, master and slave cylinders while the tranny was out. It's been a great truck so far and runs like a top. I've added sliders, a rear rube bumper and a doubler so far. I've also added a couple dents from wheeling. :icon_twisted:
