Tryed to roll start our farm tractor 1952 massy fergson our starter was messed up. I got it stuck down in the hollar so me an my dad take my ranger an pull the thing spining tires an all we couldnt get so my buddie came over with the chevy so I backed behind the tractor an based it with my brush guard with a tire mounted on it.we got the tractor half way up the hill mine pushing hes pulling.. my truck dies wont restart so I took the car down there an jump started it it ran tryed again it cut off.so I put it in park an jumped on the tractor to streer it in reverse wasnt easy getting hit in the face with mud then my friend looked at me an said wanna go drag that ford, I went down an it fired right up. It was embarressing. my ford is weak when coming to pushing things heavy.

Never had any issues with any of my older or newer Rangers, or any of my BII's for that matter...if you take care of it it will never let you down. Might be time to move on to a new truck, Bro.

Thats what I am saying bout time for one, im going to keep it an park it an restore it someday because it was gaven to me from my grandfather an i am sure he will hate to see me sell it or see junk it, It needed a head gasket for along time know. I fixed everything but the head gasket when i Had money. I regret not fixing it unstead of redoing the sus an the body work..its a keeper but will sit

worst experience in my ranger, was when i realized i couldn't "fit" in the backseat with a redheaded friend i used to have... (she don't like me any more)

Many many years ago when I first got my ranger, I took this girl out, think she went to college with me. She wanted me to get her some type of booze, can't remember what it was, something weird only girls drink. I managed to get a bottle, picked her up, we went to a party. Had a good time, I'm thinking, "yeah, I might get lucky tonight on the way home". All the signs were there, planets were aligned, etc....
So we leave the party, park in the woods, oh yeah.....

anyway, never got to second base, or first base, or even up to bat for that matter.

chick turned out to be diabetic or something, she got real sick real fast. Threw up all in the damn ranger. Was so bad off I had to get her some medical attention. Her parents show up, that's when I learned something was really wrong with her, she wasn't suppose to have anything like that. Cops were called, we were underage (barely). It all went to hell quick.

Somehow got out without being arrested or shot or beat to hell and back. she got better, this is about four in the morning....but I still gotta clean out the damn vomit in the ranger. Had to remove the seats, door panels, etc....

I don;t know if it was what I used to clean with or that stuff she drank but it messed the paint up on the passenger door a little, just enough to notice.

Now 20 years later when I'm driving that ranger, I'll look at that spot on the door and think "and I still didn't get any!"

worse experience ive ever had was when i figured out when there is 6 inches on snow on the road watch out for state trucks coming around the bend on your side of the road. thats the day i found a what was left of a corn field and almost dident make it out.. and the state truck dident even stop =(

Ok, maybe one issue....my 83 4x4 Ranger I bought it California when I was stationed in Coronado did not have a/c. I did not come with a/c form the factory and when I got stationed at USSOCOM in Tampa I loved to go wheeling as much as I could but the summers here do get hot. One of my girl friends loved to go wheeling but hated it when the truck got so hot from the summer 90+ temps and the 100% humidity....yea, that was not fun. But she looked great in skimpy close and sweat all over her body.....hmmmmmmmm, loved that!!! lol My 83 had 33x12.5's on it and it had the 2.8 V6 that had plenty of power to pull my trailer and my boat and take all my dirt bikes anywhere I wanted to go...even on those steep California highways!!!!

I kept that Ranger for a very long time and I still miss it. I sold it to a really cute girl who kept leaving me notes on my truck for about 5 months.....'Please call me..I really want to buy your truck....it is what I have been looking for for a long time'. So...I called her one day and she and her dad came over and they bought it the next day.

well....................she had one foot on the dome lite.......and the other foot on the rear view mirror........and her left arm on the passenger's sear belt hangar............

and her right hand on the floor shift handle..................................(which I was unaware of at the moment.........).........

then................................................................................

Worst experience in one of my Rangers was while hauling some firewood out of the back 40 in my black 88.

Just got the TC freed up a week before (it was dry and wouldnt go into 4LOW), along with figuring out my inertia switch was toast, and was puttering around the property seeing how it went. It went superb with its 94,000 original miles, except the A4LD was "hinky". After a few days I decided to take it to my woodlot where I go with my 88 BII and snag a load of wood. Theres lots of rocks and mud getting there, so I figured this would be a good test of its potential. It SHOULD get there with some mild effort and scouting right? Whats the worst that could happen? Well.... It got hung on the diamond plate running boards a couple of times and took a few solid hits. I got her out of the woods with the firewood and into the field, and slid her into neutral to assess the damage. The drivers side running board was pushed up and I wasnt too impressed with myself. I jumped back into the cab and slammed it into drive and gave it some juice, only to hear a loud bang. No forward gears....

I had to back up the quarter of a mile to my house, and once there I beat myself about the head and neck with a tire iron for my stupidity.

the first day i legally drove my ranger (it had been sitting for years) i took it around town and the clutch was slipping so i decided to head home.

had my friend with me and i went up a gravel road that had some steep hills. on the way back up the hills to get home the front brake caliper seized up so the rear tires couldn't get enough traction to push the stuck one up the hill. so i called my GF to come give us a ride so i could get the F350.

once i came back with the F350 i had to reposition both trucks and when i went to move the ranger i got it going and i was headed toward my GF's car and the ****ing brake pedal fell to the floor! no matter how much i pumped it wouldn't stop and i was getting panicked. i stepped on the park brake while laying on the horn and skidded to a stop about 1ft from her car.. they looked at me like WTF?

anyways then i had my friend stay on the parking brake and steer while i dragged it home with the F350.

got home to check out the brakes and they worked fine... nothing was even locked up anymore.

a few months later after replacing the clutch i was driving up a long steep grade and it seemed like the engine kept losing power.. i figured it out when i couldn't even keep going at full throttle in 2nd. the same brake caliper was seized up and as soon as i came to a stop it started billowing smoke out. let it sit for a while and drove it back home till i replaced the calipers and brake pads. been fine ever since and i just recently replaced the front brake shoes, rotors, bearings.

I was driving down the road and literally within a second there were a half dozen (really angry mind you) bald faced hornets in the cab, stinging me.

Almost hit an oncoming car and very nearly wrecked it that time.
