Whats the Largest Tire on a 89 STX 4x4?

Im not quite sure if my truck is the highrider, but it currently has 30.5's on it... are 33's out of the question? will 35's fit if i trim the front fenders a bit?

32's are as big as you can get away with. 33's are out, 35's you could run if you have no fenders or bed.

im running 35s on my 1st gen with no lift. i just trimmed the stock flare off the fenders front and rear and took a bfh to the pinched seams on the outside of the firewall so it doesnt rub. as long as you dont care about a little rubbing 35s fit.

I ran 31" tires with a little rub in front at full turn. I did manage to get rub in the rear once when I got a little airborne. My STX sat at factory height but did have Ford fender flares on it.

Here is a picture of it now. It sits a little higher in the rear now because it has add-a-leaf springs that kept the rear from sagging with the shell I had on it.

I think 32" tires would have serious rub without some modification.

this is before trimming the rest of the factory flare off and a little rub at full stuff on the fenders. my springs and leafs are also shot and sagging really bad.

really! I have 33's with 5" of lift and they still rub on my 87 :-(

i had some fun with a 5lb hammer on all the pinched seams to keep them from cutting my tires and also cut the lower rear fender mount a bit to keep from rubbing. as of now i just have rub marks on the radius arms and the rims are 15x7 with 3.75back space
