Whats broke on your ranger

Nothing. Never has been either. I still have all the original lights and light bulbs in my 99 Ranger. I bought it brand new in July 99. I replaced the third brake light with a digital one and sold the used one on Ebay three years ago. Everything works and it starts on the first turn of the key. I take very good care of it and it gets used several times a week. I put new brakes and rotors on it this summer. The original rotors were getting worn a bit. I do wish I had put bigger rotors on it however after I did it. I was just not thinking of doing that at the time or they would have been replaced with bigger rotors.

Is it supposed to look like this?

:bawling:

Stupidest idea ever...

Intermittant wiper settings don't work.
Floppy mirror syndrome on passenger side door.
Floppy visor syndrome even after swapping them.
A/C - is it considered broken if I pulled the compressor out?

Passenger side radius arm bushing is somewhere between here and pine bluff... Drivers inside door handle is questionable (works when it wants to). Passenger side window will not raise up on its own, AC doesn't work. R.A.B.S. light stays on. All of the gauges other than the speedo and tach are non functional. I'm sure I forgot something but at this point it's useless so I'll just quit while I can!

Surprisingly enough, even after my 4.0 swap, not much.

Taillights don't work.
Blinkers.

I'm having problems blowing driverside headlight bulbs. not sure why.

Ranger:
Need to replace front valence (purely cosmetic, it's just scraped)
Need to remount front license plate and PA speaker
Take care of annoying brake squeak and an interior rattle

Explorer:
Need to replace radius arm bushings
Gas gauge and cruise control don't work, not worth fixing
Has a couple of burnt out instrument panel bulbs
Passenger window is a little off-track and often gets stuck halfway down
Cosmetically, it's starting to show its age with some peeling paint, crooked rear bumper, rusted rocker panels, etc but it's in perfect mechanical condition.

everything works but....

02 sensor soon
seat springs are wore / seats need upgrading
no rust but could use a little cosmetic bodywork
blackout the bumpers
underbody rustproofing
replace shocks next spring
maybe winter tires or
front tires next spring

runs like a champ right now.

Honestly, nothing (knock on wood). Bought it in December, replaced:

lower ball joint
Alternator
IAC
Idler pully (preventative)
Belt Tensioner (Preventative)
IAC again
Tightened parking brake cable

I did everyting except the ball joint and ebrake cable.

Other than oil and fluid changes and adding accessories that's it. Gonna need tires soon but holding out to see what kinda of wheels I can find.

.

oil gauge flickers up and down all rapidly,
bad ball joint boots all around due to rough install,
sticky dome light so it stays on all the time
no catalytic converters( broke during a dez trip)
air intake tube is torn to shreds almost
egr tube in need of replacement

clunky noises on front suspension. the oil pressure gauge wont go up until the truck is warm(sender) and the tires are bald lol

I have an annoying squeak/rattle noise coming from somewhere around the passenger dashboard that I cannot find for the life of me. It's pretty loud on really rough roads, too. I am in need of a clutch within 5k miles, motor mounts, and I need new rockers.

mine squeaks in the cab and bed a bit after the body lift. its really annoying.

Hmm.....

I have a vibration around 65 under load, haven't quite figured it out yet.

Rear output seal on the t-case pisses fluid.

Engine seems to be starting to have some trouble keeping up on hills.

I have something throwing my RH caster out of whack (probably a bent rad arm, hoping it's not a tweaked frame).

Rear window leaks.

Windshield leaks.

Needs body work.

And I (allegedly, because I can't find it) have an exhaust leak from the passenger side manifold. A guy failed me for inspection this spring for that one, but then he wouldn't show me where it was so that I could fix it, even though his boss knows I have my SI license too.

Valve cover gaskets, bodywork, possibly front and rear main seals, rear brakes, e-brake cable, coolant flush, right front swaybar link and probably a few more things I'm forgetting. Hey, its got 210k on the clock. I'd expect alot to be broken. :icon_rofl: I'm looking for a different Ranger now as I have already put too much into this thing.
