Here's one for all you Mustang and other car guys;

What's a 1992 Mustang notchback rolling chassis worth that's missing the interior, engine/trans, and hood?

Really, the only thing that makes this car special is that it started life as a Ford SSP (Special Service Package) Mustang for the California Highway Patrol and is now sitting in a garage here in NE Ohio.

Car is supposedly rust and damage free. Someone was going to make a drag car out of it at some point.

I sold an 89 5.0 convertable without the motor and tranny years back for a grand. If I remember right al the Fox bodies are pretty much the same?

If I decide to finally sell my '89 GT, I'm going to ask $2000 for it.....minor mods, nothing real radical.

theres one around where I am for $4000 but everything is done and ready for powertrain, and go drag racing.plus you get stuff to put it back to street legal. the ssp might make it worth a bit more, to certin people. but i would say its not that much, a few grand at most.

The biggest thing that sucks is that the dash is gone.

The one thing that sets it apart as an SSP from other mustangs is the 160 MPH certified calibration speedometer. It's NOT the Ford Motorsport 160 MPH speedometer. That's not something I can just easily find to put back in.

honestly?
not a damn thing, it's a foxbody mustang that's been gutted.
everything that ever made it special is gone.
500-800 dollars, tops.

$800 tops.. It has to be CLEAN though.. No rust.

It's a shame everything was removed. I've seen guys pay top dollar for unmolested SSP rust-free stangs.

I was thinking somewhere in the neighborhood of $500-$600, only because it has an 8.8 rear. I've seen 4 cylinder chassis's go for $400. My friend bought an 89 LX hatch that was wrecked for an AOD to T5 swap and after we stripped the trans and pedals he sold it to a guy for $900 with the motor. It was pretty stripped down otherwise.

If you're looking to race, the notches are the way to go.

It might be because of the area I'm in but 8.8s here are a dime a dozen. They're all over the place. $800 is pushing it, but if you sell it in a high-rust area and it has ZERO rust, you can get paid.

well the motor is fried in mine (87 GT) but she is 100% rust free inside and out. mint interior, new paint, stock wheels, had it on the classifieds last week and had people all over it for 1500-2000 but im getting my other engine done as we speak so im keeping it. so for that car you speak of that is otherwise gutted, id pay a grand for it

My thought was he'd get $500 at the most for it as a regular 5.0 LX rolling chassis with no hood, dash interior. Probably $200 more than he'd get for it as scrap. I was thinking of offering $700.

I have room in my shop to park it. It would be a long term project as I was able to locate parts.

For $700, good deal.

i just got one for $500. it had everything minus the engine and trans. every thing else was there.

Do you want to race it or drive it?

If it's just going to be a driver, you can find stock hoods and gray/red/blue interiors for free in good condition.

Honestly,

This is what I'm going to look at:

This is what I want to turn it in to:

You can see where this would be a long term project.
