.post #39. Petroleumjunkie gave you the answer. Buy the material from Joanns Fabrics. 3M makes an excellent spray on adhesive. I think most autoparts places also have specific headliner adhesive.

I had mine done at a shop. Didn't trust myself with that mess.

I dont have a post like that but thank you. Petrobreath suggested spikes. Lol

If you scroll back to post #39 and don't see this, then something is wrong. There is a link in his post that takes you to Joanns Fabrics, one possible source for the material. (This is a screenshot. You can't click the link here)

I took mine completely out, kind of liked the bare steel inside roof. after a year of it though I decided to put it back in, sprayed it with grey flex-seal. Its holding up pretty good.

Joann fabrics is an awesome place to pick up chicks...

I just need fabric. Not more problems or distractions.

They overcharge and the chicks are never properly sexed! They charge you extra for pullets and you always end up with a cock or two!

*I assure you the above statement is factual and appropriate in both grammar and decency...

@SmartMax1 No one is trying to mislead you, but we do joke around a lot. Most forums you go to will NOT be like this one. There is a ton if info in the Tech Library. Or search the threads for the info you are looking for, but if you ask a question, you can expect some silly answers from a few of us. We like to joke. It's what we do. If we don't joke with you, we don't like you. So consider it a form of acceptance, if you will.

SmartMax1, we do have quite a bit of camaraderie here on TRS, you will be joked with, threads will be derailed to a certain degree especially in the general or tailgate forums. It is not meant to be a personal attack to you or anyone else. most of the smart alec answers are given in a tongue in cheek fashion, and usually there is a helpful link such as PJ's Joanne Fabric link.

For what its worth, my headliner looks like what you described as well... one of these days I am going to hit Joannes up and see if I can make it look better. maybe even change it up to Star Wars, or Camouflage, or something different..

Wow. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea. I working on a truck and this is a pissing contest. I wont no part of it. Do that crap on FB. NOT HERE

I don't have Facebook. **** Zuckerberg.

You're on a forum with some of the best mechanics, fabricators, engine builders, technicians, and automotive enthusiasts that I've ever met. The knowledge here spans decades in every single corner of the automotive industry, and covers nearly every make and model bought and sold within the United States.

We give advice, direction, mentoring, tutoring, and guidance freely, and we do it out of kindness and a shared love of old trucks. You will NEVER find another forum this free and supportive with information, period. Try your luck elsewhere if you doubt what I say.

The price you will pay for this is banter, b*ll busting, thread drift, clam chowdah in your radio, challenges to nude fights, a lack of a breathalyzer on our keyboards, nude cab swaps, and dumpsters full of adult novelties. Yes, this is how TRS operates.

Our shared style works very, very well; we rarely fail to get someone pointed in the right direction and back up and running. We are very good at what we do, and like to have fun while doing it.

Yes, we are going to harass you a bit. Its our form of welcoming a new person. This is a good sign. Otherwise, we just ignore posts from those that p*ss us off.

Yes, we are going to post off topic sh*t. Most of us know one another rather well, and we tend to have a lot of running jokes.

I dont have a post like that but thank you. Petrobreath suggested spikes. Lol

If you don't like mohawks, fight me. Nude. In North Dakota. At the Railroad.

No birds, though. They are government drones sent to spy on you.

Also, Petrobreath? Been a while since I was ingesting petroleum products.

I have taken to drinking brake fluid in recent weeks.

I'm fine, though. I can stop whenever I'd like. ;brownbag;

JoAnn for headliner fabric. I was lucky and had one of the fiberglass headliners in my 1988. I hit the mating surface with resin before re-hanging headliner fabric to stiffen it and provide a better mating surface. Turned out nice, took two days, and was super easy to do. YMMV.

Pro tip: bring an icicle as weapon of choice. it will melt after you stab him with it.

@Dirtman better school the FNG (friendly new guy) on railroads and North Dakota...
