My credo
Its probably better to be self deprecating than self defecating.
.. and what an aggravating one it was 🙄 I just don't understand.

So.. you really cant go anywhere on the Internet without seeing pretty damned good looking AI videos of sasquatch running around the woods doing cocaine with squirrels or topless Taylor swift riding a dragon shooting leprechauns with a machine gun, right? so CLEARLY it's capable of.. things..

So a couple nights ago I lazily decided to ask META some questions about stocks/ETFs to save me the hassle of googling it all myself. I've been building my own investment portfolio over the last couple years.. I receive quarterly dividends MOST months but not all.. gotta get into some positions that pay me in january, April, July & October..

"What stocks/ETFs pay quarterly dividends in january" I'd ask.. and it would give me a pretty nice list of 5-6 different companies/funds.. but then upon further investigation almost NONE of them actually paid during those months 🤦🏻‍♀️

This should literally be one of the easiest tasks for these damn programs.. it requires absolutely ZERO 'creative' aspect like all these wacky videos and stuff.. it's just gotta spend a few fractions of a second on Google.. complete failure.

I might have been slightly intoxicated 😂 lesson learned though.. that tech has a LONG way to go, and I have no qualms about being mean to a tin skin.

I'm not expecting much out of A.I., but color me cynical.

I just wish that I could still spell that well, even when well lit.

From what I've seen, you can trust AI about as much as you can trust wikipedia. Maybe even less. I've seen incorrect information provided by both on tonregular a basis to trust either one of them. They can be a start but not the final answer.

I was just figuring since it was smart enough to make all these convincing pieces of various media it would at least be able to accurately tell me dividend payout schedules. I wasn't toooo intoxicated though.. just enough for a weekday lol.

While wikipedia does frequently suffer from 'vandalism'.. it does at least have a strong edit notification/moderation system.. so *most* inaccuracies are fixed relatively quickly. I'd be willing to bet most of the false info that actually sticks around on Wikipedia is thanks to various governments and/or government agencies..

What do you expect after 10pm?

Dividends eh? Could I borrow 10 bucks?

I gotchu brother, I might as well change my name to big daddy dividend-bucks 🤑

No lol. Not even close.

But.. If I can keep up the rate at which I've been putting money into the market until the end of the year.. I'll start out 2026 raking in an entire 5 dollars a month in divvies 👍🏻 😂

Considering the rate of inflation & the devaluation of the dollar it's really not much.. but I also don't have that much in the market so 🤷🏻‍♀️ Dividends alone will at least be beating the return I'd get if I had that money simply parked in a savings acct. Gotta start somewhere.

I tend to prefer real intelligence over artificial intelligence. But that's becoming harder to find these day's.....
True that..

Although.. I have seen this fella who coded his own automatic stock trading program that uses A.I as it's 'brain' .. it'll buy whatever it thinks is best.. sell whenever it thinks is best.. and last time I checked up on his whole deal it ACTUALLY WAS providing him with meaningful returns.

He didn't put too much money into that account.. only around 1000 bucks or so just in case things went horribly wrong.. but yeah.. damned interesting none the less. I wonder how consistent it'll be with staying on the green road..

According to AI, I died in 2007.

I like how it makes cool pics of what you ask it but information wise, i trust zero of what it spits

fwiw, AI at this point is really just a damn good search engine that packages its results in syntax that make it seem like it's "intelligent", but it's really still just search results. Far more important than the synopsis are the links, and that can tell you pretty darn quick whether the info is any good. I prefer bing (microsoft) as it can search within parameters. So if I plug in all my ranger specifics, and then do a sub search, it's a lot more narrowed down. However, I still have to check the links (sources) to verify.

Here's the big thing with AI. It won't say "I don't know". So you're going to get an answer. Fact of the matter is, though, sometimes the answer isn't available and the AI just can't admit it doesn't know. It's programmed to say something.
