what size is the pitman arm nut 89 b2

hey guys i need a quick answer what size is the nut connecting the pitman arm to the gear box... something bigger than a 1 1/4 i know but my buddy is in town and i need to know what size wrench to buy...

My calipers said about 32.5mm so go with a 33mm. I am 99% sure that it will be the same size. I measured the one on my ranger. I would say that it is a good opportunity to get a big adjustable wrench though. A really really big adjustable wrench.

ohh and the ebrake line will work on the outside of the leaf as well i think. it has a spring just aft of the front leaf mounting point. that will hold it outta the way...

i was thinking the nut is a 1 5/16? or something metric? maybe a 32 or 34mm? all i know is it is bigger than 1 1/4

i use a 32mm and its snug... really really snug, but it works. nobody really seems to have a real answer to this question though.

we have been here before, nobody had a real answer then either. 1-5/16 is 1.3125 which is probably sloppy if it mic'd at something like 1.28

ok well i got it with a 32mm. so you call it whatever you want to.. i call it off my truck. so i'm one step closer to being 4in higher... haha



thanks guys. and worse yet, my buddy was going to pick up a 1 1/8 wrench for my front coils cuz i didn't have one... and about ten min b4 he got back with it, i found one laying around in my pops tool box... go figure.

it isn't a standard size.....i tried 1-5/16" on mine and it was a no go. Mine too a 33mm and it was good and snug..

I cant remember the last time i found something on my truck that was a standard size. Everything is metric AFAIK. Mind you some things fit better with standard sizes after the rust has gotten to them.....

It has both standard and metric because you've bought the utter BS that Ford is an "American" company (or indeed that such a thing really exists).

When you make the suspension in Ohio, the transmission in Japan and the engine in Germany, you really should expect to have some metric bolts in there.

The later models went all metric, as did nearly everything else.
