I'm talking about the one that is under the 'diamond-shape' cap, on the steering assembly...

If you take this cap off, you will see a groove for a seal. That seal broke, which has caused steering fluid to ooze out from between the metal cap and the rest of the steering gear housing.

I've tried a 'HELP' o-ring of approximately the right size, but it blew a few weeks later...

I do not intend to rebuild or replace the entire power-steering unit, nor do I need a new diamond-shaped-metal-cap... I just need the seal...

i got mine from oreilly's. it came as part of the sector shaft seal kit #8778. about $10 i believe.

while i was reading up on the cheapest way to repair leak(same as yours, out the top), i think i read something about there being an interior pressure leak being the actual underlying cause. but then it's been a few weeks since that time so my alzheimers may have worked its magic on that bit of info.
