What part is located under the mechanical fuel pump?

It looks like it has a single wire coming out of it. I can't seem to identify it... everything is coated in oil. It's located beneath the fuel pump towards the front of the car. Any ideas?

I'm not familiar with the 2.8 but I believe it's the oil pressure sending unit.

IIRC that's where the oil pressure sensor/switch is on the colognes.

Well I hate to disagree with everyone, so I won't.

The location described is typical of the oil pressure switch location on the Cologne family engines. Since it grounds through the block you only need one wire.
