what gear ratio would be best for the 2.3l


thanks for all the posts guys, i went with the 410s an i love it, my gas mileage actually went up, i guess the 373 were just draining gas cuz of my tires bt the 410s just feel right and there is a slight power differnce, but i appreciate everyons input
 
Full size f150 gets from 19 - 22 on the hwy.

no i went with the 7.5 an i was getting about 29 - 30 mpgs with it before my head gasket went an now im haveing an issue with the timing
 
I call bull shit in a big big way with that mileage.
 
ok call bullshit, its a 4cyl 5 spd 8 plugs and stock was around 36 mpg. 93 octane, but apparently your an f150 guy not a ranger guy

Not an F150. That was a reference to help you scope what you were saying.
They weren't even advertised at 36mpg brand new. Which means Ford couldn't do it in their laboratory testing full of engineers but you some how managed to on your own. Not to mention that the most fuel efficient compact car sold in North America ( Ford Fiesta ) Gets 28 - 30 under mixed driving conditions ( 40 straight high way on flat ground and all that jazz) but you managed it in a 1996 fridge on wheels towing a parachute with a 4:10 gear set with 93 octane ( which does nothing for a 2.3L by the way. Your waisting your money. Sort of the point behind thew 8 plugs and all)

If your gear change worked to your benefit then thats great. But don't spout absolutely false information out their and cause some one a lot of time and money expecting such outlandish MPG gains from a gear set change. Its simply bull.

Your trying to bull shit a bull shitter son. It doesnt work. :)

If I eat the food at the local Chinese place again I will shit for a week for sure.
Ate there last night and today is shits ville ! They didn't promise me anything before paying though. :)
