Should i ask for $14,000 or $12,500 ? I have owned my ranger for 2 years and 6 months so 2 1/2 years. Does anyone here on the ranger station want to buy my ranger. Update as of 6/10/25 my dad wants me to get a job and be working first if i still want to sell my ranger.

Best advice I have is to check Kelly Blue book to get an estimated price. Then, look in FB Marketplace and Cragslist to see what others are asking for trucks similar to yours - similar year, similar options, similar condition. The price is going to vary by location. So, your truck may be worth more where you live than it might be where I live, or the opposite. It depends on how easy it is to find a truck like that in your area.

for example; a rwd, 4-cylinder, single cab short bed Ranger with no rust is easy to find here in the south. So they arent worth much. But take the same truck to northern Michigan where everything is rusted out and suddenly it brings more money.

If you're referring to your 2002 Ranger, your $10,000+ asking price might be just a little high. I just used the Edmunds site and got a projected value of $3,500 for my 2011 Ranger after being honest about the mileage (175,000), even though the vehicle is clean. The JD Power site gave $5,300. About a year ago I received an estimated value of $6,500. I think I could possibly actually get about $10,000 selling it myself, but who knows for sure. Your truck is 9 years older.

Used cars are not going for the crazy money they were getting three years ago. Beware.

And no, I'm not trying to sell mine. I was just curious about the projected value.

Id probably ask for 8 and be happy with 6.

I just checked CarGurus to get an estimate in your area and suggest around $11,000.

Agree with Curious Hound.
The same applies when looking for a used vehicle.
After some research, you'll get a good idea of the market price of a vehicle.

Good Luck with your sale.
