What do you use to heat your garage?

Well due to the national emergency of the "propane shortage "
and prices jumping up to $6.00 a gallon from $2.00 a week ago... I will not be heating my garage for awhile. Insane! Their rationing propane for big household tanks ... only get 200 gallons Max. And they wont fill your tank until your under 10%.

I heat my small 10' x 12' shed with an electric heater and once it was up to temperature it stays there even on the coldest days. Its nice to be able to go out there and make pens without freezing LOL.

Another bunch of lies by the fuel companies. Ran out of propane yeah right. They just use it to price gouge just like they have been doing with gasoline and diesel for decades. If there is a propane shortage why are the states back east asking us here in the west for propane delivery drivers? Why do they need drivers if there isn't any propane? Its another scare tactic trying to make people dependent on big government for help.

I use a Beacon Morris 75,000 BTU natural gas direct vent heater in my two stall garage. Totally overkill for a two stall but when I bought it the price was only about $30 more than the 40,000 BTU unit. For comparison, my dad's shop, which is large enough for six vehicles and high enough to pull a semi tractor into, uses the same size heater and has no problem keeping up unless you leave the door open.

Before I had the gas heater I used a portable kerosene heater, which is way more expensive to run if you wanted to keep your garage at a constant temperature all winter.

Before the kerosene heater was donated to my cause, I used a tiny milkhouse heater aimed at whatever I was working on and dressed warmly.

It may be overkill but its probably a lot more efficient in the small space!

Ya its pretty BS. Ohio declared a state of emergency over it, which allows trucks hauling hazardous materials to be on the roads longer to supply people. I'm under 20% right now, I'm on the automatic delivery program so we'll see how long they wait to fill me up..

i dont even have a garage, last few weeks ive been working on my moms mazda in a "borrowed" garage- my aunt and uncle have been in florida so ive been able to use their garage, have a kerosene space heater, its loud when its running, but works really well. much better than being out at the drafty barn at my parents farm...and defitly better than my own driveway with no building at all! im hopefull that dad will get a building put up some day, with in-floor heat, and a lift! the space heater worked well, didnt need a coat at all, was a little cold when laying underneath the car, but otherwise it was fine.

It's very efficient, it ends up costing probably about $10/month to heat my garage at a constant 55 degrees and heats up to 70 pretty quick when I want to work in it!

I don't have a garage. :bawling:

Double car well insulated garage, I use a kenmore (sears) reversable, and portable A/C unit, it cools and heats, heats the garage up in about 15 minutes to 65 degrees thats more than hot enough when your working plus no insurance company hassles

Plenty o nekkid ladies...they puts off lots of heat.

24x24 poll barn no insulation. Lol it was 6 degrees in there 2 nite. Only in extreme hand numbing situation do I fire up my 150000 btu torpedo heater. Or when the air tools freeze.

Garage? What garage? I currently work in my driveway in the mobile home park.

Bare nekkid ladies are the best torpedo heaters...but not in your driveway in the mobile home park...unless they do things way different up there in WA.

Bare nekkid ladies carrying torpedo juice will keep you warm. Haven't you seen them girly magazines with the women working on car and trucks and things?

Why mess with the magazines...just get the bare nekkid ladies and torpedo juice and get busy...plenty of heat then.
