My credo
i think i have some truck on my rust
Right now I’ve got the rough country levelling springs and 31x10.5 r15 tires on. I’m dubious of the tech library honestly, is it states I need a 3” body lift for 31s in the first place. I assume this is for rwds/ 83-88s, both being lower and all that in the case of what fits inside the fenders. I unfortunately am having a terrible time just sourcing 32s as it seems like most people just go up to 33s, so I’m asking if anyone with experience on this can help. Thanks!!

Sawzall.

31” tires *can* rub with no lift. Not always, but usually, depends a lot on what rims are used. A 2” suspension lift or a 2-3” body lift or a sawzall can fix that. 1-2” body lifts are rare, the most common body lift you find for sale is a 3”.

My Choptop I had a 3” suspension lift that I cobbled together with a 2” body lift and cleared 33” tires fine. Added another 2” to the suspension lift and stuffed 35” tires on.

My 88 is getting a 1” body lift and 2” suspension lift and 31” tires if I can ever get back to putting it back together.

The 4wd rangers in the 80s thru the 90s, even the ranger edge you could use 31s on stock height. The 2wd rangers needed a lift to run 31s. Even back then 32s were not really famous, not many were around. People used 31s and 33s mostly.

You're already using a level lift, I would put in a 1-1.5" to a 2" coil spacer in the front, and put in a taller lift block under the leaf springs..that way you're all suspension, no body lift. Do it that way and you will be able to fit 32s with no issues at all.
