Gotcha.I have a little knowledge on working with acid. Never used it on metal but I’ve used it on concrete a bunch, lol. I don’t remember offhand how much baking soda we would use for a wash but it was a lot. We would slop it on the concrete, scrub it around a little, then rinse it off. Concrete being somewhat porous is probably a lot of why three washes or more is needed, but I have a suspicion that one wash may not be enough and agitation/scrubbing may be required.
Ill just buy like.. 10lbs of baking soda next time I have the time & the weather is conducive to painting outside and add just enough water so it's essentially a thick slurry to soak everything in after another acid bath.. Scrub everything up real good.. hope for the best
