What did YOU do today?

I quit drinking decades ago, but I can still remember the sweet, almost chocolate flavor of Guiness. One of my favorite beers.

one step closer to operational. test fit of the stands before final welding of the cross supports.
then casters, leveling screws and a few gussets. plan on several sliding drawers for tool stuff.
yes, that's in the basement.

this retirement gig is kinda fun. :icon_thumby:

Windows and door sweeps for the shop finally showed up today. Still have a couple odds and ends to round up for that and I have to figure out how exactly I’m installing the windows and exhaust fan into the A-panels. Those things are flush mount and an A-panel is not. It doesn’t have to be super nice, if it did I would have bought more appropriate stuff instead of about the cheapest I could get my hands on. I’m already way over budget on this project and I’ve spent way more time on it than I had expected.

So once the weather moderates a little and I finish rounding up what I need, the shop is getting finished. Well, assuming I can coax my little welder to work. It’s had an intermittent issue with the trigger that’s now become almost constantly a problem. I’m pretty sure the issue is in how the trigger functions because if I short the wires together with pliers, it feeds. Part of me wishes they would have used clear plastic instead of black so I could see what the heck is going on. Everything in there looks fine and pretty much where it should be. Jumping the wires feeds and that’s what the trigger should do. But it’s not. Bout to wire a dang foot pedal to it so I stop wasting time fighting with it. It’s a Lincoln Weldpack, older one.

Drove out to the grocery store and dinner, with my wife in the passenger seat. No shaking truck. Interesting. Parts on order.

Does she have the same calming effect on you when you are shaky?

I got more done on the F150, just need to replace rear axle line, wheel cylinders & bleed the system. Why the hell on the flex line for the rear axle , the outlet ports for each wheel are different sizes? the left side is a little bigger fitting. Took out the rear underneath tire carrier. Doubt Id use it.

Among other things I put the carb on the weedeater I worked on last weekend that was moody on Tuesday, put it through the sonic cleaner yesterday and that seemed to help, it runs good again, I'll keep trying it over the weekend to see if it stays happy then I can pass it on to my brother...

I finally received the right parts from my shower, and I installed them carefully, and I don’t have the faucet dribbling anymore. It was running a stream, the thickness of a pencil or better.

Then I took them out again, and drilled/doubled the diameter of the four holes that feed the water, so I can take a decent shower.

Then I took the best shower I think I’ve ever had.

The dribble was so bad that I was turning off the water heater (for 2 weeks). I’d turn on the water heater for an hour before I took a shower, and then turn it off when I was done. I was only working around the house so I only took a couple showers in a whole week. I was pretty nasty. So I don’t know if it’s that the shower is working great, or if I was in a greater need than I’ve ever been before!

It was still cheaper, easier and less painful than hiring a plumber.
