Anyone do the Explorer OHC mod?

On the spare tire note I have pondered going to an aftermarket one that has the backup camera built into the mirror.

I have one of those I picked up at the Expo in Colorado last year. Haven't installed it yet. It clips onto the existing mirror and I'm not sure I like that idea. If I use it, I will probably put the original non-dimming mirror back in place first. That would make the whole mess less bulky and lighter.

I should add that to my current project, since I have so little to do.

So I talked to a friend who has a late 90s explorer and he says the console does dim when the headlights are on and the buttons do not light up. Thanks everyone!

Well, I got it mounted and wired up. Added LED lights. I had to go through four circuit boards to find one that worked correctly. I had gone through all of them looking for bad solder joints or bad resistors. It really adds to the interior.
