What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Finally got my 96 parts truck stripped after finally finding someone to buy the engine. I knew it was rotten, I just didn't think it was as rotten as it was... never had a transmission fight being removed as much as that one did

I’ve heard that backspacing is sometimes an issue but should fit

I picked up those four Jeep wheels, they were free. That was to get a spare for. @Peter_'86_2.9L_Auto ’s truck.

The wheels had 31 x 10.5 x 15 tires on them, the heavy duty things that have the three ply side walls. When I measured it with the tape measure, the offset was about 4 1/2 inches and the Ranger offset was about 5 inches if I recall right. We pulled off his front wheel and we tried one and just steered it back-and-forth on the Jack. The wheel fits fine, but the tire is big. I gave him a smaller tire to have it swapped over. It’ll work fine as a spare.

Now I have to get rid of the other three jeep wheels and tires…..

Did I mention I love Craigslist at marketplace?

Drove my 97 to whiskey town lake for awhile. Really needed some nature, i took a few pictures. Will share more when I can get out more to different places.

just prepping projects, looking for seats and there is a "pull it" nearby that has good potential.

front shock insulators...I did not realize the aftermarket shocks don't always snug the top, depending on their bushing size. It's minor, but I can hear a small amount of movement, and the current upper bushing is not nearly compressed enough with the nut bottomed on the threads. I could just stack washers, but I might see if I can find some OE bushings in good shape. Unless you guys have some info I need (high probability this is the case).

Also pulled a pending 0420. So I'll start the process of examining my exhaust. No issues driving, but it's so old tough to tell. I've been searching and skimming old threads here, lots of good info.

Pulled a 503, I think I just maybe jostled the wiring harness under the driver's seat messing with the scuff plate (I'm going to try to refurbish my weatherstrip).

Finally, ordered o rings for pressure line on power steering. Light leak at pump, 95% it's just the o rings and I figure that's a cheap starting point.

So lots of little things.
