What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I'll look into it and see if they have something plug and play for the existing connectors on 2011. 5 pin, I only have to splice one wire instead of 5. The 2019 already has a 7 pin plug. So, it's either use an existing adapter from 7 to 5 for the 2019 if I can't find anything that doesn't require hacking the 2011's harness, or go whole hog and 7 pin everything if I can.
Or you could go totally non-standard with a military flavor. (Get them with the number of pins you need.) Check the scrap bin over in the electrician shop.

I'm not sure those would work, though that would be cool as hell. The aircraft runs on 48 volts. So the pins and backs of the connectors are pretty small. I would need to raid the parts bin at an Army Armory or Marine station where they have ground vehicles.

Oh, I’ve learned how to do it cleanly and as good or better than factory… I did both my F-150 and my green Ranger last year I think it was. Straight up surgical.

Well, when I get that far, I'll come look you up. It would probably won't be until Summer next year at the earliest. I have other unfinished projects that need to be made closer to being finished projects. Like the garden, fire pit area, firewood racks, and rack for the carport rafters. All of those are in a "good enough for now" state. They function, but need to be better.

Hello all,

Been awhile since I've been on here. Im still working on getting my 97 up to my standards. A month or ago, my mechanic gave me a real disappointment to their way of how it was handled. Mid October check engine light came on, took it in for a free light check, and it came back to the purge valve. They replaced it in July when the top end gaskets were done. In the mean time I was informed that it was something else, apparently the vapor canister. When I drove it from there light came back on. I went to oreillys and again I was told it's the purge valve. I went back to the shopped informed the shop writer and mechanic and I was told the computer reads and says this and that..blah blah blah..I said put the computer down and I need this truck fixed...as he kept saying the computer code reader says that and this...I said screw this I will fix it myself..had no funds for a new one, I went to the pull a part and found a ford oem one from a 5.0 Foxboro mustang. Got it clean up and installed and it took care of it...soo I offended that shop, who cares, I don't.

I found a nuch better shop recently, and had them change the timing chain cover gasket, oil pan gasket, water pump gasket, thermostat gasket using all felpro. Had a new ford thermostat and water pump along with a new ford belt.

Now this engine has been gone thru all the way thru to put in new gaskets and some needed things as time has gone on since July. Still have brakes and tires to do, in time.

I will say this stock 3.0 and 5spd does really great, it gets up and goes when I need it to.

I do have some questions about other things I wanna do to this truck. I will put those in the proper areas.

It has been a real process with bringing this Ole ranger back to life, as my health is failing miserably..it's been wonderful to still get my hands dirty occasionally and being productive to continue making this ranger mine and getting it to continue being a good reliability.
