What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

I rotated the air in the tires today and topped off the blinker fluid.

I hope you used the right rotation method or you’ll have rolling resistance from the air rolling backwards.

Here is an alternate way to keep them balanced...

Just put the raised Ranger lettering on the Tailgate before it gets too cold out. I'm not sure if I like it yet. It could grow on me I suppose . Your thoughts?

Started raining which slowed some things down but I loaded my push brush mower in the '97 to take to my brothers tomorrow so we can cut trees and address some things then I decided to pull the heat gun out and strip the pinstripes from the tailgate and drivers door of the '97 since they are the only panels with pinstripes... (that didn't even match...).

That's about it so far other than some shop cleanup... ran the RC car and balanced it's battery since it was being cranky... I was going to do some tractor work but the ground was too wet...

We are goping he gets home from thr army for christmas. He put in his terminal leave but its not been approved yet so he is not sure if he will be out in time to be home for christmas
Best wishes on your son making it home ! Our son is Navy and won't make it for Christmas but it's cool b/c we know for sure he'll make it the 2nd week of January. He doesn't mind too much but mama here is not happy...

Yesterday I,
  • disassembled and added heat shroud on new up and down stream O2 sensors,
  • wrapped the exhaust (waaaay easier with manifold off of the vehicled..)
  • didn't push it off a cliff
  • cam sensor,
  • and reinstalled the entire wire harness I made new again. ......Still only starts with remote trigger and not key start dammit :/

Today I'll be,
  • testing for leaks with my new smoke machine from Amazon!
  • Diagnose overheating issue (im thinking thermostat or the temp sensor next to it)...
  • compression test
  • vacuum lines
  • calming down with a cigarette

I bought this parts truck to be disassembled with the goodies to be distributed between two of my BIIs. 95 XL 4.0 4x4 5 speed reg cab short bed She got vandalized a couple years ago and has been waiting for me to find her.

Broken glass, torn off cat, jacked up ignition switch and rusted out shackle are her larger faults. I know she’s a parts truck but it’s in my nature to fix things. I can’t help it! DONT JUDGE ME!!! So while bench building ( drinking beer in the barn ), I found a wrench in my hand that just happened to fit the spring eye bolt. So I removed the rusted out remains of the shackle and cleaned it all up well just because. Then I somehow found myself under the dash wiring an ignition and start switch to bypass the jacked ignition switch ( which is in the run position ). So now she starts and shuts off without having to jump the relay and shuts off without killing it with the clutch and the battery can stay connected. She fires right up and runs like a champ. I keep wanting to dislike her enough to stop but I can’t. So $400 for a new windshield? I’ve already got a rear window. No inspections here so I can straight pipe that lack of cat thing. She may have to be my new beater with a heater. And A/C. Did I mention she has almost no rust on the body, even underneath. But she’s covered in whiskey dents but then I won’t worry about scratching her. IDK. Maybe a therapist would be cheaper. I need a bigger barn.

You may want to shop around on the windshield. Our local string of pull a parts have glass shops. I put a brand new windshield in my 87 for $165. That was a couple years ago but I don’t think it’s changed much.

Hope it helps

And my vote would be to save it….
