What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Made from leftover parts.

That looks like puma...

Yesterday I moved the donor Explorer over next to my Ranger and started stripping the front clips. Managed to eff my back up in the process though

Got it running with the O2 sensors hooked up. Apparently there is a difference between 89-90 mustangs and 91-93 and my harness was a 90 I thought it was a 92.... its even more apparent when it goes into closed loop it needs tuned, I decided I dont want to change O2's when they go bad so im gonna tune it for open loop still need to buy a chip though.

Aligned the front end. Could maybe use a little more tweaking. But it's very driveable and it's too hot do to anything else outside today.

Felt good to take it for a drive. I haven't driven it in months, maybe not since last year. Forgot how different it is compared to my RWD 97 F150.

So...... this happened.

1996 XL, 2.3l, 4wd, 4.10s, 231k on the odometer. Bench seat, rubber floor. Heh.

Needs a tune up, timing belt, fluids changed, and a front clip. Going to wind up shoving a spare 8.8 L/S I have hanging around under it, along with some more goodies off the 2001 parts truck.

Thanks to @Ramcharger90, I have a brand new to me front assembly that will fit perfectly. Score!

Fun fact on Ford's, they changed from 3 wire oxygen sensors to 4 wire oxygen sensors in the middle of the '90 model year, same connector, the 4 wire sensor will plug into a 3 wire harness and you will get fuel trim codes because the O2 sensor heater isn't working (3 wire sensors grounded through sensor body).

I'm running a 4 wire sensor on a 3 wire harness, I just grounded the heater ground externally... yes I found this out the hard way as well...

I really don't want to bother with them if I dont have too, even though everything is wired up they are another parts that can go bad so ill just tune for open lupe.

Meanwhile, back on topic....

I washed the Ranger and F 150 this morning. Then I dirtied up that white replacement bed side with some blatant advertising I had laying around.

Also discovered some play in the front right wheel in the F 150. Must be wheel bearing time. But I don't feel like braving the heat to investigate it this afternoon.
