What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Today I tore down the platform I built to put the Skamper on... I sure wish @85_Ranger4x4 could have got it on the load home. It was over built but it worked good. But it's mostly fire wood now but I will use some of it I'm sure. Seems I always need a 2x4 or two. Then I cleaned about 70% of the garage and regrouped. I did some measuring on the truck and pulled the rear bumper. On the welding table and I got the hinge tacked for my tire carrier. I should have time this week to get it fabbed up. I'm hoping my blind ass can get it welded together.

Wished I had a platform for my Skamper... and got some work done on my rear bumper, disconnected the parking brake cables and halfway have the rear sway bar installed.

I added to the pile of parts needed for my Ranger transformation. Hopefully I can get things figured out and get some help, taking the next two days off plus the weekend to see what all progress can be made. Swapping to a 5.0 AWD and axles....

Just used it to pull the neighbor's truck out of the ditch. His girlfriend swung wide pulling into the driveway and dropped the DS front wheel into our rather deep drainage ditch. Open diff. I was watching TV and saw vehicles slowing down in front of my house and when I looked, saw her blocking traffic and spinning a tire. Police showed up as I was getting in position. So I stuck to business and didn't get any pictures. Sorry. But it really happened. Honest!

Oh, yeah. Kudos to Bubba Rope for making the connection.

Got home from work a little early for a change so I started stripping the front ends down. Still have some questions that I could use answers to so I know if I need to make a junkyard run

On a scale from 1-10, rate the:

Truck; 6.5? (F150, RWD on 31" or 33" tires)

Level of stickiness; for them - 8. From my perspective - 1 or 2. I was pointed downhill and gravity almost gave me enough power to pull it out. I didn't let any smoke out of my clutch.

Girlfriend; 3.5 - too young, too millennial or newer. I can get past the blue hair. I wouldn't be ashamed to talk to her in public. But definitely not interested.

This was purely a case of "show up quietly, do the good deed, escape almost unnoticed". I'm the old guy next door with the ugly little truck that is useful when needed and quietly keeps to himself.

You're like a super hero that comes out at night and rescues blue haired damsels in distress.

You need a super hero name......

I have a new project I'm working on. Picked up a 92 regular cab 2.3l from a guy who said he put a new motor in it and transmission. Well, he was right. He sold it cause he can't figure out how to get it to run amongst other things. The thing is, from what I can tell. It has a MAF harness from 1991 and a Computer from 1990 (MOM2) also CA Emiss. I'm getting the standard codes saying it can't control Idle out of specs and the TPS sensor is out of range. It's running like it has a vacuum leak that I can't seem to find and my vacuum tester agrees. Sounds like it's coming from the throttle body. Yes, I've checked/changed all the hoses and going back out there to figure it out.

I fabbed up all my gussets and put the latch and bump stop end of my tire carrier on my rear bumper this evening.

It's about as good as I'm gonna make it.

Ran out of gas for the night... back at it in the morning... don't get many Fridays off.
