What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Put my 235/75/15’s back on, while front tires were off I did the washer lift mod, just what the extra threads on the stock bolts would get me. Did make a little difference, looks better.

Did you give it the "Bat Wing" or the "Brain" and it got mad? I know what it was, you hit it with the "Goat".

When did you last drive it?

I usually get more inspiration to work on it if I drive it.
I usually drive it a few times a week, but never more than a few miles round trip.
It was the code 214 coming back that knocked the wind out of my sails....6 months ago I humped that engine bay for days doing the cam synchro and lower intake gaskets. Now I probably will have to do it again.

Im the contrary, after awhile, I will get inspired to fix the reason(s) I parked it.

Started working on the repair to my defective Super light steering link. They reamed one of the tapered holes too deep so the ball joint taper sticks through too far and can't be tightened down.

So I'm making a piece with new tapered holes. This piece will be welded to the bottom of the cross link arm approximately as shown in this picture. I got this far today working inside. I'll finish Friday morning when it's cooler for welding and grinding outside.

That's definitely shenanigans, over 5000lb being pulled with a 4400lb Ranger with an automatic transmission isn't the nicest on the trans...

Topper is back on:

Started pulling the speedometer cable back out but got interrupted.
