What did you do to your Ranger today? (Part Deux!)

Hmmm, let’s see:

the uhaul car trailer deck is 19” off the ground.

the bottom of the bumper is even with the Caprice wheel center. A 215/70-15 is about 27” in diameter. 1/2 of 27 = 13.5

and the bumper face is 5-6” tall.

So the bumper face would span the width from (19+13.5= )32.5 to 38.5. That’s still pretty much a front end impact on everything but a MG MIDGET or such.

The trailer overhang behind the trailer wheels would also hit the cars front bumper before the caprice bumper hit the car’s windshield.

If you get < 300 cubic inches to lift the front end of that behemoth off the ground and not destroy the drivetrain in the process, you have my respect. You also have a LOT less money than when you started.

A lot less money is right lol. Been amassing parts for 4 years now.. pretty much buying when I can afford to. Still need to "invest" a few thousand more.

You could put 10 sand bags in the back and still pull the wheels off the ground with no mods: I forgot how long those were behind the rear wheels. I had a much smaller Vista Cruiser wagon I would love to have back for a mild restorod. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! And man, I'd love a Vista cruiser... theyre getting to be big $$$ for a decent one these days.

@Blmpkn

Olds called their version the Custom Cruiser. What part of that don’t you understand?

It's gonna be custom, and I'm gonna cruise in it.. whats the problem? 😅 I would like some custom cruiser tail lights though.. they look better than the caprice ones.. or mabey I'm thinking of the Pontiac tails... I can't remember lol.

Even if the weight is fine, it's hanging probably four feet off the back of the trailer, with the back bumper about head height if a small car hit the trailer from behind. People in the front seat of the car that hit it would be DEAD.

Well, in maine... if you rear-end someone... it's YOUR fault. Something about keeping a safe distance between your vehicle and the person in front of you and.. like.. paying attention? Seems pretty reasonable to me.

I don’t think anyone was debating who would be at fault in an accident.

My mom got into an accident a few years ago where a lady backed out of her driveway, my mom slammed on the brakes before she hit her, then the lady just kept backing up into the front of my moms car.

Cop came out and gave my mom the ticket because "it's always the person in backs fault" and the lady lied about being in reverse.

Luckily my moms car had a fancy black box accident recorder. It showed she came to a complete stop before the impact happened meaning she couldn't have rear ended the other lady. When my moms insurance company brought this to their attention the lady finally changed her story.

Every car I own and both my parents cars all have front and rear dash cams now. Screw trying to explain things to the police while the other guy lies when I can just show them a video...

Don't forget to bring a towel!

Yeah... they said on the news that it may get hot enough out there to be the hottest recorded heat wave of any place on earth... ever!

You all stay safe over there.

Death valley

Death valley set a record last summer at 135..that record may be beat this week. Anza borrego is going to be 123, Yuma and phoenix are looking to be hotter.

I would think you folks should prepare at least a little bit in case the grid goes down or whatever else could happen.

Can a person even survive at 135 degrees? Seriously wouldn't you just die of heat stroke within minutes? :dunno:

This is why I prefer the northeast. You can wear extra clothes to survive in the cold. There's basically nothing you can do when its 135...

I could never live in Florida even. It's an all day long sweat fest for me in the summer.

When I go to Georgia they just live there lives differently. Everyone gets up when the sun comes up around 5am and does outside stuff until about 10-11am. Then everyone just goes inside because it's too unbearable outside with the heat, 110% humidity, and 38 different kinds of biting flies. Then after dinner you go back out for a couple hours in the evening before the mosquitoes start. Then run back inside before loosing all your blood. its just one long ever lasting game of avoid the horrors of living in the south...

Ill shovel snow thanks...

Come out here and you can play both games.

Hot/humid/buggy in the summer and you can still easily freeze to death in the winter, everybody gets their way!

I have a great big bag around here somewhere... I’ve been meaning to give it to you...

Oh here it is... it's full of NOPE!

Y'all do realize that your body makes sweat to cool you off in the summer so you don't overheat. I don't recall it making fire in the winter so you don't freeze to death. LOL

It's a cool 92° degrees here right now and about 80% humidity. Real nice.

The argument that you can put on clothes in the winter to keep warm is kinda funny to me. I imagine everyone wobbling around like Weebles because they can barely move their joints. But they're warm...

We wear less clothes in the summer here and it's real easy to cool off when needed. Plenty of streams, lakes, gulf's, oceans, etc. Not to mention air conditioning.

I'm actually kinda glad that you good folks don't like the heat, it's crowded enough here already. :ROFLMAO:
