What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

Swapped vehicles with my son today. He needs to get a load or two of gravel for a French drain he's putting in. I told him to take pics. I guess I like that factory bedliner after all.
I have his Subaru Impreza and already washed it.

Not a chance.
My son does a better job than my daughter but they were mostly raised by my ex-wife so I wasn't able to teach them what's right.
My son's girlfriend's Focus was totaled when someone ran a red light (a lot of that going on in the JohnnyO family lately) and hit it, although it didn't really look that bad, so he is going to "sell" her his Subaru for the wildly optimistic $6000 that the insurance company is paying her and use that money for a down payment on a new or used Subaru Outback. I'd rather he got a used Ranger or a new Maverick but he loves his Subarus. His driveway is about a 35* angle and it snows here.

Hit and run, Friday night 28 February 2025 while parked in a very dark parking lot near a car wash. Of course what to expect here in Colorado.

Witnesses thought only the rear bumper was hit. That would have caused no permanent damage since I built that rear bumper out of a 6” wide steel channel iron.

Now 2 March 2025 in full daylight I can see the extensive damage primarily to the left side of the fiberglass bed. Shredded the left rear fender. Bent in the fiberglass near the cab. Also dinged the paint at the rear left corner of the cab.

Reported to insurance company. I do have insured motorist coverage and rental car coverage but what a nuisance.

Wouldn't be so bad but I had to have that same fender fixed from a Home Depot parking lot back in 2015.

Body shop has had trouble finding this side panel. They got one shipped in and it was even worse than mine. Now shipping in a second.
So I'm wondering what do I do when this truck gets hit again? Go to a metal box? Have a custom indestructible box fabricated? Insurance figures over $2K to fix this mess.

I ordered a Wild-top. If you’ve never heard of it, it’s basically a soft topper with a built in rack for a roof top tent. It’s only a few bucks more than a Delin Softopper compatible rack… it’s actually cheaper if you don’t order it with windows.

Once this comes in I’ll probably put the Softopper up for sale. I don’t really need two canvas caps (toppers to some of you.)

I had to reinstall the rear seat because I’m going to have to carry a 3rd person in my truck for the 3rd time in its life. I figured while I’m there I should clean it… It’s needed a good cleaning since some idiot spend a week driving all over the woods of Kentucky with the windows down.

I inspected the front brakes on the 2019. It's time for new pads and rotors.

On the plus side, the mud tires are on the front now.
