What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

I found a little time after work and dinner today to pull the factory plastic “skid plate” and install the steel RCI fuel tank skid plate. I mean, it was only 4 nuts and 5 pounds of mud.

Hmm... I forgot about that skid plate and the mud. That new one looks nice!

You can still have the factory excuse for a skid plate if you want it.
I'm hoping to cut one out of some 1/4" aluminum. It won't have the fancy bends. But should provide some protection from sharp rocks and limbs.

Even after 2 hours of power washing that thing was still packed solid with mud. I had to chisel away the dried mud to find the bolts.

Yeah I just said on another thread. I usually set 2 yard sprinklers under the truck and let them run a few hours. It does wonders. They sway back in forth and it drips out every where. I still had it caked in the front skid when I swapped out.

I drove the heck out of my truck today. The wife and i really enjoy this new ranger. She commented today that she cannot wait till we get to go out of state in it.

I also did some testing versus the erangler since my wife always comments that her jeep is faster. Turns out it is. Even with the ford tuner on the ranger, her 2019 wrangler is a half second faster feom 0-60.

But her has that alfa romeo 2.0 turbo with the e-torq hybrid system while i just have the ecoboost.

And the jeep weighs more, too!!! What the heck!

Both woth full tanks of gas and me, as we discussed previously

I assessed the damage to the front end after the girlfriend hit another car. It looks like just the plastics and maybe some replaceable support brackets got bent up. There is no point in filing a claim for repair since my deductible is $500. They would only be paying about $15 of the parts cost and nothing needs painted. So, it's better to just buy the parts myself and replace them. I hope whatever bad jujube she got is done now. It's getting ridiculous...

After looking at how much it's going to cost to replace all the center parts of the bumper, I'm considering getting one of these for about $100 more: https://www.americantrucks.com/barricade-ranger-hd-stubby-front-bumper-winch-mount-fr13372.html

It provides a location for a 12,000 pound winch and retains the parking sensor function. Whether I'll actually get as far as mounting a winch may be another story but it will repair the damage and I can eventually sell it off to another Ranger owner that doesn't want to go full on off road bumper just yet.

The one I really want is the ARB or RangeMax winch bumper with the wrap around bull bar, but at $2,100+, it's out of my price range with all the other stuff going on.

Right now the Ford Performance ARB front winch bumper is 500.

That one doesn't have the holes for the sensors. I made the mistake of ordering the Copilot 360 package. So, I have to buy stuff that accommodates that. At least I don't have the adaptive cruise radar to worry about.

Make some holes yourself?

Always an option but I'm viewing this option as an interim step to the final upgrade even though I know someone with all kinds of metal fabrication tools about an hour north of me. I figure I'll use and abuse him for when it come time to make custom skid plates for the 2011 since no one makes any outside of the front one to protect the front of the engine and radiator.

EDIT: And I figure I can just sell the insert to Robert when I'm done with it. :p

Forscan changed some stuff, Just not autostart stop

I actually had the shockworks stubby bumper on order when they closed up shop. The winch tray was all I could do at the time with my budget. I wished I would have had the stubby bumper option back then. Shockworks was the only one offering them at that time. The tray works fine but does effect my approach angle. I really would like to upgrade front and rear bumpers eventually. Truck should be paid off come December so hopefully I can afford to do some more modifications then. Everything I do now has to be on a super tight budget. The Ranger Adventure and Vagabond trip prep is all I can really afford this year.

I'm sort of the same way. I do have some money set aside and my tax return should be here any day. I figure the tax return will cover the bumper and some of the cost of the new tires for the 2011. As far as the vagabond trip, what I have set aside is going to have to cover the equipment. The trip costs itself will still need to be paid for as far as food, gas, and ticket fees for the event we are ending the trip, kinda sorta out of pocket as we go.

I ordered a set of Eibach 1” rear lift blocks from @Stage 3 Motorsports … I want to keep some of the factory rake after I install the Fox suspension.

Next step is to figure out which upper control arms to buy.
