What did you do to your 2019 and up Ranger today?

Forscan changed some stuff, Just not autostart stop
I learned that a tailgate light bar plugged into the 4-pin trailer plug shuts of the auto stop/start since the truck thinks it's towing a trailer.

Apparently, I timed the thing right on the whole bumper issue. I got 10% off due to a sale along with another 20% for a military discount for the stubby winch bumper on American Trucks. So instead of it being $600 something, I got it for $490, with shipping.

I also ordered a Mike's Build Shop dipstick for the transmission since the fluid and filter change is due. No discount there.

But I did get 5% from RockAuto for the ULV fluid and filter with the discount code that is supposed to expire soon. I think that was $100 after shipping.

I just need pick up some LV for the transfer caseand some gear oil for the rear axle.

the 6g ranger guys said ford fixed that and it doesn;t work on the 24/25 rangers anymore.

i went into forscan and activated the transmission modules for rock crawl mode and sand mode. they seem to work because when i toggle through the different modes and i get to those, you can feel the truck lurch like its going into low gear. kind of funny since i have a 2wd. it activates the rear locker and lights up the 4wd sign on the cluter, too, ha ha ha.

it gives a cool picture on the gage cluster too. a beach background in sand mode and a cavern one for rock crawl mode.

i activated baja mode, it let me do it, but when i toggled it on with the button, the truck would skip back to normal skip that setting to i think since baja is a ranger raptor setting, which does something with their tuneable exhaust, it won't actually work on my truck. i did find tunable exhaust in one of the other modules in forscan, also, though.

and i found line lock. i have to google if that is the real deal line lock your front wheels for burn outs type of line lock before activating it though.

The stubby bumper insert came in today. Everything appears to be built well enough to the most part but I do question the attachment for the shackle mounts.

3/16" steel is used where it seems to count.

A bunch of hardware and a wire harness extension to mount the thing.

those welds dont look the best ???? sorry to rain on your parade.

We are in agreement.

At least the winch tray looks to be half decent. This thing is a temporary step anyway. It's to repair damage to the plastics in the center section of the bumper from slow speed accident and ended up being about the same price as the parts to repair everything back to OEM.

So same cost as plastic, but better. Kinda hard to argue with that. Those welds seem typical for all but the most premium products these days. Pretty sad really.

That was my thinking. Those anchors might be ok in a recovery but I would not trust them individually. In tandem, they might not kill someone.

For what the price was, I wasn't surprised. I'll take a harder look at the winch tray but at first glace, it looked ok. Depending on time, how easy it is to install and remove, and other things, I might have someone with a welder give it a proper weld job in the future.

My 1” blocks came in yesterday, so I ordered upper control arms and HD tie rod ends from SVC Offroad.

Man I haven't seem those tie rod ends. Those look beefy.
They’re billet aluminum, so I don’t know how much stronger they are than stock…. But they look cool.

Added the compass to the gauge cluster screen and changed the splash screen when starting and turning the truck off. I was looking for a ford performance one but only the raptor one says ford performance on it.
Had to use forscan to make the changes

I tried the presidential, focus st, black label, and something else and only the raptor and the stock blue oval ford splash screens worked. I will run it for a little while, i guess, and than probably go back to the stock one.

Oh yeah, also turned off thr auto start/stop symbol on the gauge cluster too. No more little a

Hit 90k so I changed the oil and took it to my bud's tire shop for a rotate and balance.
Got 3 quarts of Redline axle lube and a quart of their D6 ATF for the transfer case but it started raining before I could get that far.

I've accumulated filters and fluids for doing work on all three vehicles. I want to get the 2019 alignment done first since it is the back up vehicle. Jessica will need to drive it while I do all the fluid changes on the Escape. I'm assuming none of them have been changed and the sticker on the windshield says the oil change is coming due soon. So, I'm going to be doing a lot of learning on the new vehicle.
